Another Australian man staying at the Mandalay Bay Resort has spoken about his close call with the Las Vegas gunman - claiming he launched his murderous attack from the room next door.

Australian Brian Hodge, who previously worked at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast, claimed he was staying in the room next to the shooter on level 32 at the Las Vegas resort.

He said he managed to escape the initial horrific scenes inside the hotel but found himself forced to hide in a bush for several hours after the event.

“I got outside safely and was hiding in bushes,” Mr Hodge said.

“There were multiple people dead and multiple shooters. I was just hiding waiting for police to come get us.

“We were hiding in the bushes outside waiting for the police.” Mr Hodge said he was staying in room 32134 while the gunman was in room 32135.

“It was a machine gun from the room next to me,” he said.

“My floor is a crime scene. They killed a security guard on my floor.”

Brian Hodge also told the Sydney Morning Herald that he had stayed in Room 32134:

Brian Hodge's room, Room 32-134, is the room that has a connecting door with the shooter's room, Room 32-135.

The door to Room 32-134 with the food cart placed in front of it was shown in the leaked video of the corridor:

So it appears the SECOND BROKEN WINDOW was actually made in BRIAN HODGE's room 32-134, not in an adjoining room occupied by Paddock to the Vista Suite 32-135 also occupied by Paddock.

In other words, the adjoining room in this graphic was not hired by Paddock, but by Brian Hodge:

Presumably Paddock broke into Brian Hodge's room through the locked connecting doors and broke the second window out at some point before starting shooting. Hodge was lucky he was out to dinner at the time!

Or was there a second person with Paddock who broke into Hodge's room?

Good catch—I thought that as well remembering the graphic of the two broken windows and the fact that there was an adjacent room to Padddock’s suite with the double doors between them.

And notice the dinner cart—the story is that Paddock sent 200 shots down the hallway (His door would be to the left of the cart in the photo—see the debris on the carpet-probably from the police breaching the 32135 doorway) and no bullet holes to the cart linen or the cart itself.

Dunno - I don’t remember the LVMPD or the FBI saying Paddock broke into another guest’s room in order to break the window. Maybe I just missed it when they said that?

I believe they figured out those were lights on the building. Either strobes or viewed thru trees while moving past.
No broken windows on those lower floors, either.

In this photo I can see maybe ten shots through the middle of the door. Maybe the bottom part of the door which we can't see had many more.

I believe it was established the ‘muzzle flashes’ on the fourth floor were from a strobe light.

There was a video a few days ago of an Adam Housley Fox News report where he was standing in front of the hotel giving a report and those stupid strobe lights were going off in the background. They lights showed up in other videos as well.

We are hearing now that the police engaged Paddock in gunfire when they came to Campos’s aid. Had not heard that before yesterday.

I would think that if they were exit holes, they wouldn’t be so clean, but I do not know.

Note that the lamp glass is broken on the left. Maybe from when they blew the door, or maybe from return fire by cops.

I’m not sure I believe the part about the cops returning fire. There was another version in which the cops get off the elevator and see the wounded security guard, but the shooting had already stopped and never started again.

You know, the door panel on the left is on its side—it would have been vertical when it was breached.

You can tell by the direction and length of the door trim.

That is a piece of the left hand door that has been placed on its side.

I would think that would be evidence for forensics.

-unknown, usually in adjoining rooms, there are two doors, lockable from the inside of each room.
