The rest of Europe will end up subsidizing the rest of Spain.
And if the wealthiest parts of the country decide to skip out without paying their share of the country's debts, the results could be very bad indeed for world markets.
I agree that with you. I certainly have seen no evidence while I was there that the ANY of mountain provinces across northern Spain are ANY kind of anything at all except welfare receivers. Much less an economic powerhouse!
Loss of the coal jobs and mining jobs across there (due to the EU’s global warming fixation) killed the region very, very thoroughly.
The Basque Solution: Will Spain break up? And should Americans care?
BBVA would have a major problem with the Basques proclaiming independence.
I pray it happens!
All of Spain is infected with Socialism and Marxism unfortunately.
Basques have nothing in common with Castillians linguistically or ethnically. Culturally, they’ve merged a bit over the past couple hundred years only about 30% of the older generation now speaks Euskera.
At least the Catalans speak a Romance language. Basques are perhaps the oldest culture in Europe and their language predates the Roman invasions.
It sure aint integration!
An orderly secession is not disintegration. Somalia is disintegration.
See the Czech Republic and Slovakia for orderly division.
