As with the Iraq/Iran war I’m cheering for both sides!
Pray to God not. This whole thing has been handled horribly.
It was decided rather emphatically 1861-1865.
“If the people in this area of Spain are able to pull this off look for a similar illegal election in California next year.”
Yeah, and if the Cali secession movement does indeed gain traction and should come to an affirmative vote what should be the U,S. goverment response? Should we let’em go or shut it down? Btw, if/when some sicialist becomes POTUS we will likely see a similar movement in Texas. However, Texas may bring along some of its regional neighbor’s - which would mean the end of the U.S. as we know it....
States can’t print money. That’s why CA won’t leave.
Secession is illegal only if you lose.
Never go full Lincoln.
Mr. Mao,
Would you enlightening us by posting the article and section of the US Constitution that prohibits state secession?
Thanks
Nothing was decided in 1865. A temporary decision was made in blood.
The fully independent country of California can print anything the want to.
madrid continues to escalate refuses to accept mediation.
this all began when autonomy was revoked back in 2010.
My family is Basque, still have relatives over there. I guarantee you that if major violence breaks out over there and it shows Madrid is preventing Catalunya from controlling it’s own destiny that the other autonomous regions will start their own separation movements as well.
Galicia, Basque Country, maybe even Asturias. Spain is not a cohesive common culture or society. The regionalism is as fragmented and unique as different sovereign cultures.
If Catalonia leaves, it will be a full muslim enclave in five years.
And Spain will be Andalusia in ten. That is why the Army is there.
This time, there is no Martel to keep them south of the Pyrenees.
Shut off the water to Cali and seal the border. It would be over in weeks.
Cali is a desert state that has WAY more population than it should. The are piping water from Colorado to keep the lawns green in LA. Turn off the pipe, and things will get rather interesting quick.
The Soviet Union once thought the same of its constituent “Republics”.
“States cant print money. Thats why CA wont leave.”
If they left then they wouldn’t be a State and can do as they please. Duh.
They. Can’t. Afford. It.
Think Venezuela.
Why not? They are the 7th largest GDP in the world and the largest GDP in the US.
To compare it to Venezuela is silly.
P.S. You said States cannot print money, you said nothing about viability.
