Las Vegas officials held a press conference Wednesday revealing more information and insight into the deadliest shooting in U.S. history.
They believe the shooter, Stephen Paddock intended to escape the hotel room he was shooting from following the massacre and are actively looking for accomplices.
A Texas firearms dealer who had sold handguns to Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock in 2010 and 2011 remembers him coming into the shop last year with girlfriend Marilou Danley.
Paul Peddle, who owns B & S Guns in Garland, Texas, said Wednesday that Paddock didn't buy anything on the most recent visit but asked about a way to modify a gun to make it easier to pull the trigger.
He said Paddock had never purchased any long guns that could have been used in the attack on a crowd of concertgoers on Sunday.
Peddle said Danley didn't show any interest in guns.
He says at the city's Metropolitan Police headquarters that, "Our souls are stricken with grief for every American who lost" someone in Sunday night's shooting. He added, "We will struggle through it together."

The map shows the escape route. The hammer was for breaking the drywall for access to the stairwell, not the windows. The bullets broke the windows. Bet the inner wall of the suite was already holed and he was waiting to break through the second at the right time. He had block the stairway door to cut off pursuit. If he was a patsy, then the client used that escape route and the police are not talking in hopes of catching him.
The aviation fuel angle is more than just speculation. From the other thread that focuses on it, investigators found bullet embedded in the walls of the fuel tank.
Then if you look at the graphic in reply 2, it indicates the broken window to our left and the shooter’s right was used specifically in targeting the tanks. Which makes sense because it faced directly east, towards the tanks. That window faced at an angle away from the festival grounds, so it was basically only useful for targeting the tanks.
Now the following is my speculation since I didn’t read the LV Review Journal article about the fuel tanks, so here goes. The shooter’s opening round of shots were aimed exclusively at the tanks. If you watch any of the home-made vids from within the festival grounds, you can clearly hear the shots, but no one moved or fell. So it seems the bullets were flying at the tanks instead.
After a few seconds delay (presumably when the shooter moved from the gun aimed at the tanks to the gun at the other window), the 2nd set of shots began, and that’s when the festival goers began to get hit.
I was thinking about that. But he must have known that if the cops were in the corridor they would be in the stairwell as well. Also, I would have thought the walls of the stairwells to meet fire code would be concrete block or something more fire-resistant than drywall.
An employee at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino told ABC News she spent a total of 16 hours serving Paddock in the casino during her shifts there over the weekend. She said she watched him gamble for eight hours straight, from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
He played high-stakes video poker on machines in a separate, “exclusive” section of the casino, she said.
It was interesting a few weeks ago how some leftist politicians suddenly backed away from Antifa after loudly supporting it.
The Las Vegas mass killer reportedly tried to create a gigantic explosion during Sundays carnage by shooting at two large jet fuel tanks located near the Vegas Strip.
Stephen Paddock left the two round aviation fuel containers with bullet holes during the mass shooting that killed 59 and injured hundreds but luckily he could not penetrate the tanks, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The tanks are at an airport about 1,100 feet from the site of the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, where chaos unfolded when Paddock opened fire from his Mandalay Bay hotel room.

It’s very difficult to blow those tanks initially because the vapor pressure of the fuel keeps oxygen out.
BUT-— If one could hole the tanks sufficiently, maybe the flow of fuel out would draw enough O2 in that a round 10 minutes later could blow a tank? Those are big tanks — seems like the flow out would be hard to achieve with small caliber bullets. I am guessing...
Others have guessed the car and explosives were supposed to be near the tanks. Seems like hitting the explosives would be a tough shot UNLESS Paddock had a rifle suitable for sniping up there, ie., not bump stock modified...?
Would not all from the hotel exits be blocked?
Oh good grief. Too long a day. That was supposed to be:
Would not all exits from the hotel be blocked?
How could he do that when he left Marilou’s name all over everything? Her room, her slot card, her car in valet parking, her name associated with every home that had weapons.
Another story said that they used the security guard’s master key to evacuate the rest of the floor. I’m betting they didn’t check ID when they did that. That was the plan. That was why he had a suite, and, an adjoining room. He was going to be one of the ‘terrified’ evacuees almost killed by his girlfriends’s friends who had their own room and had gone crazy after they stole his guns from his home. [no guns in the adjoining room??] Except he got dead.
There was a Vegas movie were a group of guys dressed up as Elvis impersonators. Shot up a casino. Then I think the plot had them exiting via helicopter. But they might have parachuted to a lower building roof first. Cannot remember exactly. He was too old for that.
2) Dressed as security guard (black slacks with black gloves too)?
I think there's one other shooter who DID escape and that's why they will NOT discuss escape plans. Easy peasy. Perhaps they are looking for someone so they don't want us to know how he escaped.
He probably thought he had more time. The entire attack plan was to create chaos and confusion. People getting shot at all thought there were multiple shooters. That is why two open windows. He had the stairwell next to his door barricaded so he could walk down the hallway. That would get him to the elevators. Or to other tower wings in the hotel. He obviously wanted to get to his vehicle and expected them to eventually track him down. He had lots of ammo in car and explosives.
Jet fuel is kerosene. AFAIK, it burns but doesn't explode. Maybe he figured a jet of burning fuel could create a lake of fire, incinerating thousands.
Movie cops are morons with slow reflexes who can't think their way out of a paper bag. Real life cops are not like movie cops. He probably got over-confident, and slacked off on the planning.
The funny thing is that auditors are supposed to be meticulous. Of course, most auditors are also fairly good at math, and don't hand their hard-earned cash over to casinos by playing their mathematically-rigged games. So the guy's habitually and irrationally over-confident about his abilities.
Nope. 2nd room was so that he could (and did) target the fuel tanks. Security would know (or should have) that the shooter could be in either room.
That story is B.S. There is literally no way to differentiate between a direct shot on those tanks and a ricochet from the stage area. Entry angles are very similar. The two window ploy was to create chaos and confusion to buy time. That worked on almost everybody. His car was full of explosives. If he wanted those tanks to blow, they would have blown.
