But these are not new aircraft - they are old, 1st gen. Black Hawks that have been SLEPed - We've got to do something with that aging part of our inventory, we don't fly Alpha's anymore.
And understand the frustration: "We’ll still be there 20 years from now." - but we're still everywhere from 70 years ago (Japan, Europe, etc).
Unless you're suggesting we pull chocks from the entire globe, this is the way it will have to be.
That country and culture is a money sink.
Also, there will be no one natives to service the aircraft. They don’t do that in their culture. It is beneath them.
