Mike Pence's chief of staff Nick Ayers on Tuesday pushed wealthy donors to unite against Republicans in Congress who oppose Donald Trump's agenda, advising them to "purge" the small contingent of GOP leaders impeding the implementation of the president's campaign promises.
According to an audio recording of the event obtained by Politico, Ayers departed from Mike Pence's generally conciliatory public tone at a closed-door Republican National Committee event at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington, and urged a more aggressive funding strategy.
Just imagine the possibilities of what can happen if our entire party unifies behind him?" Ayers told donors. "If and this sounds crass we can purge the handful of people who continue to work to defeat him."

Senator McCain one of the biggest roadblocks, is unlikely to serve beyond 2018, due to his cancer prognosis.
Looking at who is up for re-election in 2018, the most significant is Susan Collins, another of the few major roadblocks. There is a real chance to get her to leave, and retain the seat.
There is a movement to encourage Susan Collins (Senator from Maine) to run for Governor in 2018 - which would open up the Senate seat for current Governor (and way more Conservative) Paul LePage. They are the only two Republicans with solid state-wide appeal, likely to win their elections.
She turns 65 this year, and also goes over 20 years in the Senate, locking in a sweet pension. She could probably do significantly better by stacking a State pension on top, than by incrementally increasing her Federal pension a bit more.
It is certainly a face-saving way to exit the Senate - perhaps the most prestigious position she could aspire to outside the Senate. They would need to decide soon - within a few months, even if it is not announced till Spring. Probably keep the bidding going for a while, to run up the commitments/sweeteners.
Just flipping those seats would probably break some legislative logjams on Obamacare, but there is a good chance for some pickups from Democrats - the calendar strongly favors Republicans, with who is up for re-election in 2018.
And maybe Joe Manchin will get around to switching Parties, if trends continue in 2018.
[Yep, full Gallon of flavored Cherry of that liquid stuff that can blast your inside & feel as if your spending eternity in the restroom. LOL]
That cherry stuff was a lifesaver when I when nearly a week without going!
I never appreciated explosive diarrhea as much as I did that day!
The GOP will die unless it wholeheartedly embraces Trumpism.
Trumpism is the Founders ideology reborn for the 21st century.
Conservative, patriotic and unashamed of it.
The Jebs, McConells, Mclames etc are Marxists
Yes and No. Technically he is responsible to carry out POTUS policy but..... Like I emphasized before Pence is the RINO brought in to balance the ticket.
He represents the political machine that has taken over the White House apparatus and kicked Bannon and others out.
When the First Amendment was attacked by Tim Cook of Apple and the other corporate giants, Pence caved as governor of Indiana.
Mike Pence backed down on freedom of religion and speech for gay marriage dissenters in 2015 along with other governors under similar pressure before and after him.
It didn’t take long for the dumbest quote to show up. My guess is it will not be topped.
There must be no non-RINOs in the party if you think Pence is a RINO. Stupid.
Not much of value in your post.
When you watch 95 percent of the rank and file support Speakers like Boehner and Ryan when the time comes to vote among the GOP House members, my assertion they are virtually all Republicans are RINO’s is proven.
And which quote is that?
