I won’t bother to review all of her idiocies, but the idea that “Native American” tribes don’t have gender roles if they don’t have a certain gendered word is unspeakably stupid. The squaw/warrior division of roles in many tribes was among the more extreme of “gendered roles” across all of human societies.
I don’t think for a minute that more than a few of the hundreds of American Indian languages don’t have “gender” as casually understood (masculine/feminine) as well as “gender” in the larger linguistic sense of morphological classes such as “flat things,” “kinda-cylindrical things,” or “things that were once alive but aren’t now.”
Yes, I can remember reading about old time NHL star George Armstrong (Chief Shoot The Puck) was being joked at for being native and he simply said “Before you white men came along, we had no debts or taxes, the women did the work around the home and the men hunted all day long”.
Also like most liberals do, lets group all Native Americans as one people instead of the dozens of tribes with their own unique cultural.
Additionally, there was more than one Native American language. Did not a single one differentiate between sexes?
