[Re: Gloria Steinem's rant above] Sheer lunacy.

My thoughts exactly. There's so much self-contradiction in what she said, it's just mind-boggling.

Notice how Steinem talks about black women and abortion, and the supposed health risks which accrue for not having it subsidized (!), while completely ignoring the fact that black babies are disproportionately destroyed by it?

Why isn't that racist, Gloria? Why don't you tell us about eugenicist Margaret Sanger, Gloria, and why she was so gung ho on "reproductive rights"?

And also, Gloria Steinem expects America to subsidize abortions not only domestically, but overseas as well?

And Ms. Steinem probably still wonders why so many women reject her strident version of feminism!

And are we really supposed to believe that American Indians didn't have words for "mother", "father", "male", "female", "he", and "she"? I'd certainly like to learn more about that, because I think she's full of sh!t on that point.

And last time I checked, there were dozens and dozens of Native American tribes and languages. Is she really trying to tell us that none of them had words for "he" and "she"? What the heck has Gloria Steinem been smoking in her peace pipe? Because I think it's a lot stronger than weed...

“She talked about the bracelets she was wearing - one for Rosie Jimenez, who died in 1977 because of complications from an illegal abortion - and another for lack of funding for abortions overseas.”

Poor Rosie...she didn’t get the email that aoortion was legalized in 1973.

“-——saying that “laughter is the only free emotion,” because “you can compel fear, obviously, but you can also compel love if people are kept dependent for long enough.”

This makes as much sense as Maya Angelou’s poetry.

The only reaction to both is,”huh?”.
