IRS awards fraud-prevention contract to Equifax: report

The Internal Revenue Service will pay Equifax $7.25 million to verify taxpayers' identities and help prevent fraud under a no-bid contract issued last week, according to a report in Politico. The contract comes as lawmakers lash out at the company over the major security breach that exposed personal information of millions of Americans. Politico said the credit agency will "verify taxpayer identity" and "assist in ongoing identity verifications and validations" at the IRS.

What could go wrong?

But it really doesn’t matter for me personally because I’m the adult version of Ransom of Red Chief.

If someone uses the poor security capabilities of Equifax to steal my identity, I’m going to demand payment from the thieves in order to give my identity back to me. Otherwise they are just going to have to keep it.

I don’t believe anyone was cleared...

IMHO Everyone should get some sort of credit monitoring.

Equifax, who gave up 143 MILLION names, Social security #’s, and dates of birth.. those folks ?
Given by the same organization that blatantly and knowingly discriminates against Conservatives and Tea Partiers ?
Awarded under a :” NO -BID CONTRACT “ ?
Sometimes the jokes just write themselves ..ROTFLMFAO !


What could possibly go wrong?
