The Las Vegas hotel room of gunman Stephen Paddock, who killed 59 people and wounded more than 500 at a country music concert, was littered with assault rifles and bullet shells, photos of the room show.

A Boston 25 News reporter tweeted a photo of Paddock’s room that shows a hammer along with dozens of casings on the floor and a bullet magazine. Among the casings is an assault rifle fixed with a scope and bipod.

A second photo showed another long assault rifle with a long magazine and handle at the front of the stock.

Police believe Paddock used a hammer to bust a window in his Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino hotel room.

not real good for precision long distance shooting. Maybe up to 200 yrds for a well practiced shooter.

He was spraying a crowd. With fifty round bursts, he didn't need to be very practiced. He just had to point at clumps of people.

I’ve been told you don’t hear the shot that kills you.

I’ve always wondered if in a firing sqaud do you see the bullet coming.

"Did we say it was over when Germany bombed Pearl Harbor?"

"Germany?"

"Forget it. He's on a roll."

.
When you’re doing the firing, both pops occur at the same time.

At the target, the round gets there before the noise.

PATSY Paddock is the created story, versus the multiple pro shooters who carried out the well planned job.

What is your evidence for this?

One when it fires and one when the round breaks the sound barrier.

It happens too fast for you to hear. Muzzle velocity/speed of sound, and all. That's why, when you use a "suppressor", you have to use subsonic ammo. Otherwise, even though the gunpowder explosion is "suppressed", the bullet will still "crack" when it breaks the sound barrier.

I suppose you’re right ... but since he was thinking sniper I would have thought he would vie for longer optics than an Eotech ... but maybe not.

Didn’t anyone hear him breaking the windows at the start? That would have identified the room.

~~~~~~~~~~~
EXACTLY my question. I mean was he the ONLY one staying on the 32nd floor? Didn't anyone outside the hotel hear SOMETHING that would have identified WHERE he was?? Just seems odd to me.. lots of questions.
It is, you can tell because the receiver slides back into the gap at the grip.
Do those Slidefire stocks work when using a bipod?
I’m guessing we are asking questions the authorities wish we didn’t.
A freeper says they make two cracking sounds. One when it fires and one when the round breaks the sound barrier. Personally I’ve never heard a gun make two sounds but I’m not the expert others on here seem to be. Although I did fire expert with an M16 at 200 yards. Never heard more than one pop per round.
Depends on how far you are from the shooter. If you are the shooter, or at the line, you'll hear one sound (and whatever echoes). If you're down range, you'll hear the bullet crack/whiz by and then hear the report later. Assuming you weren't hit, in which case you may not hear anything.
First the glass and then the guns. There had to be people around that floor or next that heard where it came from!
Is a slide fire bump stock even illegal?
They're legal wherever you can own an AR-15 or AK-47.
Pretty much.
They have a big closet full of them, and all of them were given psychotropic drugs as children.
Bed is made... no holes in the spread from hot casings or barrels.
Good grief. The ignorance on this thread is strong.
Have you ever actually shot a .223 or .308 semiauto rifle? I've seen a .223 ejected cartridge go down the front of a girl's shirt. Other than her jumping around and screaming, there was no effect. Not even really a 1st-degree burn.
