Congressional Democrats chose not to wait for all the facts to come in before immediately pushing for increased gun control measures following the Las Vegas shooting Sunday night that left 50 people dead and more than 400 injured.
It’s not yet clear how the shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, acquired his guns or if gun control measures could have prevented him from obtaining them, but leading Democrats are already demanding stricter gun control legislation.
Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy issued a statement Monday morning claiming that “the thoughts and prayers of politicians are cruelly hollow if they are paired with continued legislative indifference.” Murphy demanded Congress “get off its ass and do something” following the shooting.
“Tragedies like Las Vegas have happened too many times,” Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote on Twitter. “We need to have the conversation about how to stop gun violence. We need it NOW.”

Was wondering about the logistics on this as well, and if it could have/should have been noticed what he was carrying up to the room. 10 minutes (?) of emptying magazines would suggest a lot of heavy lead was brought up to the room. 1- 2 suitcases on one of those hotel luggage carriers? Would also assume 1- 3 long guns with the barrel disassembled fitting into a standard suitcase?

Nothing short of a full ban on rifles of all types could possibly work. But then, criminals intent on committing murder are not going to discouraged by breaking gun-control laws. They will get their weapons somehow -- Americans possess millions of rifles.
Had Hillary been elected president and DiFi succeeded is passing legislation that requires us to turn in our rifles, imagine the loss of life that would follow?! (It would be more the 50).
I asked this very question on another message thread here. How did the shooter manage to get all that weaponry into that hotel room without rousing suspicions from the bellhops or cleaning staff? Is moving those weapons to the room an inside job? The Mandalay Bay resort management have a lot of very disturbing questions that need answering.
