A “silencer” (really a “suppressor” - since no such device EVER made would completely silence gunshots, even from a sub-sonic round) would likely, with the volume of fire that this nut/Leftist/Moslem laid down, overheat and warp the barrel.
Of course, the fact that he used 8 (or 10, depending on reports) different guns would mean that no such warpage would occur...but it would ALSO mean that he had been through 8 or 10 MORE background checks.

Because we have both houses of Congress and the Presidency? Because existing law infringes the right to keep and bear arms? Because my hearing, and that of millions of others, is blasted deaf due to the use of unsuppressed weapons, which are common in Europe? Because registration of arms and their accessories (suppressors = gun mufflers) is unconstitutional?

Anyone who thinks a "silencer" (really a suppressor) can make a gun totally quiet has their head so far up their rear, I guess in their case everything really would be pretty quiet.
You'll probably cut the muzzle noise by 20-25db (from 150+ to around 130db). I don't know about you, but hearing a bunch of 130db pops is still going to get your attention.
And unless you're shooting subsonic rounds (so, basically 22LR subsonics if we're talking rifles) you'll still get the sonic crack of the round passing through the air. That will definitely get your attention, pronto. And if the shooter had been using subsonic rounds he probably would have done far less damage than he did, considering his distance (32 or 33 floor or whatever, not sure how far laterally to the crowd) was significant, and anything he hit would have had far less damage.
No, plain and simple this guy wasn't concerned about people reacting to the sound of the rifle and using a suppressor wouldn't have done squat, as anyone should have told Hillary before she proved how stupid she is with that tweet.
Look for any video of someone rapid-fire shooting from a suppressed rifle and you'll notice a couple important things. 1) it isn't quiet, and 2) that suppressor will start to glow red hot...basically acting as a beacon saying "here I am!".
I don't know the guy's motive or what his deal is, and may he rot in hell, but for anyone, Hillary or anyone else, to jump out of the gate and start blaming the type of gun or gun laws or whatever batty crap, that's just wrong and they're probably heading to the same eternal destination.
