A man carrying a knife and shouting 'Allahu akbar' killed two female passengers before being shot dead by soldiers at Marseille's train station in southern France.
The attack at Marseille's busiest train station took place early this afternoon, as scores of armed police officers and soldiers swarmed the area.
Both victims were women, with one left with a 'sliced neck'.
Local official Oliver de Mazieres told AFP: 'Two victims have been stabbed to death.'
The prosecutor for the area Xavier Tarabeux said the knife man was shot by soldiers, while Marseille police urged people in the city to avoid the area around Saint-Charles station.
French Interior Minister Gérard Collomb has announced on Twitter he is travelling to Marseille in wake of the attack to liase with anti-terror police chiefs.
A spokesman for Mr Collomb's department said: 'Anti-terrorist prosecutors have opened an enquiry, and the terrorist theory is privileged..'

The elites continue to push the indigenous citizen masses to use public transportation while at the same time facilitating the immigration of people whose cultures encourage terrorism. What could possibly go wrong?

Unity is our strength. We are all Americans not ethnocentric Americans. Diversity as a goal has been used for quite some time to split us apart.
Marseille has been a muslim hell-hole for years. Every major train station in France has significant military patrols, but they are ineffective against someone who is willing to die to take down a few infidels before he gets stopped. I saw the troops at the Lyon train station in August. They weren’t stationed at key areas. A group of 8 was clustered together patrolling the station. Easy for an attacker to wait a few minutes until the troops have passed by before beginning the assault.
Bring back the guillotine and use it on the government first
