I read another article where Getty is going to forbid Photoshopping pictures submitted to them. It seems there are too many anorexics in France, such that the French have criminalized altering commercial photos to make models look slimmer than they are. Getty’s preempting being regulated.
They should sell their diversity photos with a background mask so that they’re black-drop ready. These people are total idiots if they think stock photos are “too white.” Art directors across the country are scrambling to find appealing images with one of everybody in it, to the point of buying two stock photos, one group shot and one of whatever preferred nonwhite group is missing from the first image, then Photoshopping the added diversity in.
But my personal prediction is their business will crash harder than a North Korean rocket.

For the past 10+ years all stock photos I see at the bank, apartment leasing offices, corporate job sites, etc. show a diverse crowd of smiling yuppies, more women than men, with maybe a white woman or a white man among the ethnic mix. If there is a white woman and a white man, the guy is gay.
PS try searching “white couples” on google and duckduckgo image searches. Different assortment than comes up with other ethnicities.

Let people sell the stock photography that others want to buy.
I can’t help to observe almost every commercial during the Obama reign had black actors living in lifestyles 2-10x the cost of living I’ll ever enjoy and I have performed about 5x greater the amount of academic and professional development as those ‘disadvantaged’ counterparts on my hard earned cash without any outside charity or discount.
I’ll take note of the “disadvantaged minorities” and how they get a free pass on all the opportunities we will never receive.

Go to Gettyimages.com and search for images of a middle aged white surgeon. The demographic which makes up the majority of US surgeons and the standard for representing surgery, in general.
You will get a ton of late twenties, female, black surgeon images. Which do not exist in practice, or as a demographic, and are certainly not the majority. (You also get a bunch of white females, too, which isn’t realistic.) Women rarely go into specialized surgery.
Imagery of minorities is not only common and easy to obtain, it is currently disproportionate to reality and rather over done.
Non-white people are underrepresented in advertising? Wow. Next they’ll discover that liberals are underrepresented in television, movies, and tech companies. Disney and Google will be announcing affirmative action programs before we know it.
OMG!!!! If someone does not “look like you” - skin tone, eyes, hair, ect - then it surely means YOU are not “represented” because THAT - skin tone, eyes, hair, ect., not your character, is what “identifies” you. /sarc
