President Donald Trump discusses the short-term (relief) and long-term (recovery) efforts for Puerto Rico. As everyone is aware, even before the storm the island territory was under financial collapse as a result of Democrat mismanagement and generational political agendas creating a culture of dependency.
Hurricane Maria has exacerbated Puerto Ricos problems and is showcasing a governmental structure incapable of governing during crisis. The media hypes the suffering, yet omits the Islands inept systems of governance and the culture of dependency. The only way the U.S. federal government can assist effectively is by taking over almost every aspect of state and local government.

Although the people are Americans, the territory is third world.
There are only 3.5 million people there. They could all be moved to the mainland and just shut the place down.

The RAT party is working full time to show that President Trump is not helping them but the Teamsters unions and RAT politicians are the problem in PR.
It should not even take 1/2 of the estimated $70 Billion dollars to restore PR. The usual Fake News crowd spews out numbers and it does not know what it is going to take.
Right now, we hear the Teamsters union wants their money up front before they drive any trucks to make deliveries. We think that this is Bravo Sierra big time.

Partner, the electrical grid of PR almost has to be rebuilt. The electric poles are made of wood and the 200 mph winds did some damage. The electrical poles are scattered all over the place.
Yup, they need the poles to be put up and then you have to put up transformers all over the place since a lot of them were destroyed. I think the electrical side is going to be the biggest project on this island.
We live in Texas and we had no power for 2 and 1/2 weeks after Hurricane IKE. Of course, the electrical guys contracted out the removal of trees that had fallen on wires and brought down electric poles and transformers. What a mess!!! PR has a much greater monumental task of rebuilding the electrical infrastructure that is needed to restore electrical power.
The Teamsters union for the Truck drivers is pure unadulterated RAT gamesmanship to show that President Trump is not helping out get the supplies out to the needy folks.
The Truck drivers are now saying they want to be paid upfront to make deliveries of supplies. They said they are on strike. I think this is why President Trump is down in PR right now.
