I tell you -and it is WITHOUT EXCEPTION, EVER - if you appoint Congressmen or Senators, you are appointing incompetent fools and completely corrupt ones at that - there are no exceptions. Price, Sessions...all of them. If you want honest, competent people in these positions, do not get anyone out of D.C.
Or, perhaps put another way, you are doing a ‘Peter Principle’ thing and promoting someone beyond their competence. A person might be fine at a position and suck at the next level up in many many fields.
