The NFL says the message players and teams are trying to express is being lost in a political firestorm.
The issues have been "overtaken by political forces," NFL spokesman Joe Lockhart said Thursday, referring to President Trump's criticism of the league, team owners and players for kneeling during the national anthem.
More than 200 players either knelt or used other means as expressions of unity last weekend. Lockhart said such actions are not a protest against the anthem or the flag.

Exactly as Rush Limbaugh featured Kaepernick’s comment today. The NFL can’t escape this tar baby...heh, heh, heh...yes, I used it and I meant it. They don’t have the mental horsepower to figure out that the media have totally manipulated the narrative to send them over a cliff so the media can watch the fall to report on the results. The truth on Ferguson and other incidents is out there to show that the police are mostly correct in their actions. The only exceptions that come to mind was the pair that drove up on the 12-year-old with the toy gun and shot him and the Chicago multiple-round shooting in the street.
If the black players in the NFL really wanted to address a true travesty, they’d be in Chicago trying to reduce the black-on-black homicide rate. Until then, they’re a bunch of triflin’ Negroes, IMO.
Hee hee...This is what happens when someone tries to hijack the stage from someone who hijacked the stage in the first place.
Your "show of unity" gets lost in the uproar over the original protest, and you are now forever linked with it.

The message was political.
The answer is financial.
That’s why they are whining now.
Why do football players have a “message” again?
Message? What message? Kneeling is submission not protesting. Of course these are football players who are not too bright.
All we know is one rich jock starts kneeling during the national anthem and then many others start copying him like sheep.

They disagree that black people should be held to the same laws as everybody else.
Too many of them get arrested. I mean the players.
According to viral videos on youtube they were being encouraged to.
There are airplanes leaving the US every day for Africa, the mid-east and other muslim and commie fly-blown hell holes all over the planet.
These places already have the kind of government and society these semi-literate, overpaid, racist, ignorant dip-chits think they want.
So, if America is so bad why are they still here?
The NFL players, owners, and sponsors think their customers are too stupid to get their message - a series of unpatriotic in-your-face trashing of our nation, it’s symbols, and our heroes.

Even if we pretend they had a message, the protesting players are still the problem.
If you are speaking and only one audience member misunderstands, that person is the problem. If you are speaking and 71% of the audience, including everyone who did not start out agreeing with you, misunderstands, the speaker is the problem. In this case, the NFL players presented the message they claim to have been sending so poorly that everyone misunderstood.
Oh, boy!
Now the regular fans are too dumb to know the true message.

Absolutely love your post, it is the truth and the bottom line. They are crying because they are quickly coming to the realization that they killed the nfl cash cow and goose that laid the solid gold eggs with their own hands! We former life long nfl and Patriots (now forever known as the New England Turncoats) fans and our families have PERMANENTLY LEFT and we are NEVER coming back.
