In Ana Rodas room, right next to her closet, shes pinned a quote that reads, With God all things are possible.
The small decoration is just one element of a space that is not only adorned with words of encouragement but also pictures, letters and anything else Rodas holds dear to her heart.
Rodas, senior in FAA, has made a lot of sacrifices to get to this point. As an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala, she is now within less than a year of graduating from the University.
Rodas has spent 15 years living in the United States, and although she would like to continue, its not because she feels American. To her, that is simply a term.
When her parents decided to bring her here, it was more so about the opportunity to pursue higher education and a better quality of life. Both things have come true since her arrival, but even this countrys affluence hasnt shielded her from its moments of divisiveness.
Rodas said her main goal is to earn her bachelors degree and continue on to graduate school. Beyond that, she doesnt see herself spending the rest of her life in America because its been clear that she and other undocumented immigrants are unwanted.
She doesnt think that one decision is better than the other but believes that each individual instead of being forced out should have the right to choose.

And certainly Americans had no “right to choose” in providing for her illegal presence in our country, taking the place that an American student should have had, and subsidizing her education in “free” public schools.
Watching the local NBC News in Los Angeles last evening.
They were touting a call in event sponsored by Telemundo where Illegal Invaders covered by DACA could call in and get advice from Activists and Immigration Lawyers.
They acted lie it was a Jerry Lewis Telethon to cure MS.
Interesting story out of the Philly area. Slowly things are a changing
Guatemala will benefit with the presence of an educated citizen that they receive at no cost to them.
The piece doesn't mention the University she's attending - (probably taxpayer supported) or the financial aid she's receiving (probably taxpayer supported) ...
Her attitude is 'take the Americans then give them the finger and whine about how they should 'give' more. Really? How tacky and corrupt third world can she get? Could this way of thinking have something to do with why we want these freeloaders out of our country? Umm, these freeloader ingrates?
if Paul Ryan won't put a stop to this rape of the taxpayers he should be booted out of office along with the rest of the jerks.
How did she obtain a social security number??
<< And that, girlie, is the problem.
THIS!!!
Watcha bet kaeperdump thinks the same thing?
AND guess who’s footing the bill for her education.
`Fine and Applied Arts’: basically a NEET (no education, employment or training) degree she can parlay into a grad degree in Ethnic studies or whatnot.
Your average wetback can only bring in, on average, six other illegals. An ambitious criminal like her, familiar with the verbiage could chain-migrate in hundreds.
Get her outta here.
Paul Ryan has been actively thwarting efforts to stop this.
He should have been Cantorized already.
Several months ago I checked the U of I law school’s website to see the annual cost for an IL resident to attend; it’s about $38,000. Now, what about this parasitic, illegal WItch? Who’s paying for her illegal AA presence?
What citizen or legal resident got screwed so she could attend?
Why do you suppose I feel that way?
