Scalise, the House Majority Whip, returned to Capitol Hill on Thursday for the first time since June, when he took a 9mm bullet to the hip during baseball practice at an Alexandria, Va. baseball field.
"I'm back," Scalise tweeted at about 10 a.m. Thursday.
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) reportedly became emotional when he saw his longtime colleague at the Capitol on Thursday.
The gunman, James Hodgkinson, wounded five people including Scalise during the June 14 shooting, which occurred as lawmakers practiced for the Congressional Baseball Game a day later.

Scalise was shot with a 7.62mm SKS rifle. The shooter had a 9mm pistol with him but it was not used. So much for accuracy in the reporting.
Notice no mention of the shooter as “left-wing extremist” or “alt-Left” or even “Democrat activist”...
Rep. Scalise thanks his security detail in the article. I think there are still a lot of unanswered questions about what level of security they were providing while sitting in their vehicle some distance away from the ball field.

Poor NYDN writers. They’re so anti-gun that they don’t even know the weapon Scales was shot with. They say it was a 9 mm bullet that wounded him when it was a 7.62 mm bullet fired from a SKS rifle that used 7.62 x 39 ammo. His injuries would’ve been a lot less severe from a 9 mm pistol bullet.

Yes, and a 9mm would not have done the terrific damage to Scalise that the rifle round did. Plus from where the shooter was firing, he’d have been lucky to hit Scalise at all with handgun.
I'd say that was faked emotion by Lyin' Ryan...at best.
I wonder how much his insurance covered.
