Cubs’ owner Phillip Wrigley refused for years to allow the Anthem played at Cubs games because he felt such frequency cheapened the Anthem. The Cubs only relented in the ‘60s.

Never heard that before, but I tend to agree.

I really don't like the "all veterans stand up" part of sporting events. I served. Got it. No need to be clapped at before every game.

Thank you for your service.

I respectfully disagree, for honoring our dear vets at sporting events is one of the few times we can publicly thank you.

I have ways to honor and support on a more private level, but so appreciate the opportunity to honor you/dear vets, publicly.
