Extra security has been added near the statue of retired Ravens star Ray Lewis at M&T Bank Stadium after he joined current players Sunday in kneeling during the national anthem, provoking calls to remove the likeness.
As of mid-afternoon Wednesday, more than 36,000 people had signed an online petition on change.org that advocates for the removal of the Lewis statue because of his refusal to stand during the National Anthem.

I just unfollowed the Lions on Facebook, I had a peek on their comments, and let’s just say that I am far from alone.
Tear it down!
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
That Statue thing
Oh Yes!
Same dude who was implicated in a murder charge?
Lets see how the left likes tearing down statues now.
Seem to recall a different approach to threats of tearing down confederate monuments. Baltimore prevented leftist mobs from tearing them down by... tearing them down before the mob arrived.
“Extra security” for a statue of a black sports figure is another example of black privilege.
What goes around, comes around.
Excerpt from article...
Lewis said he was praying.
I dropped on two knees both knees so I can simply honor God in the midst of chaos, he said on Showtimes Inside the NFL.
Yes. Someone should lop the head off.
Fans are making a big deal out of this. Just quietly stop going to the games, watching the games, and don’t buy the merchandise or the NFL sponsors. All of this posting videos of fans burning jerseys and petitions are having an effect to the point that the NFL will end up not caring because the majority of these fans will continue to watch the sport. Even the threads here on FR is overkill now. Just don’t watch the games, and they’ll get the message. Ignorance is bliss!
Most likely scenario: LEWIS couldn’t balance himself on one knee anymore, so he used two knees.
He’s probably not lying, but it was idiotic nonetheless. I was shocked to see him come out last year and criticize Kaepernick’s protest. And I understand he spent a lot of time on ESPN this past summer telling other co-hosts that CK isn’t going to be signed because he doesn’t want to play football.
Football meet knee balls.
If one looks under keyword “Raylewis”, you get an article that he met Trump. I vaguely remember that happening. Just saying.

If the Raven & Lewis were paying for the ‘extra security’, no problem
HOWEVER.... we all sort of know that the 36,000 plus that demanded its removal will be paying taxes to insure it is safe.
A vicious cycle.
