President Trump is preparing an executive order to allow people to purchase health insurance across state lines, a reform conservatives have long championed as a way to bring costs down and stir greater competition in the national marketplace.
The executive action gives the White House a chance to follow through on at least one promise related to healthcare reform after Senate Republicans' second attempt to overhaul Obamacare failed this week. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul
"I think there's going to be big news from the White House in the next week or two, something they can do on their own," Paul told MSNBC, adding that Trump "can legalize on his own the ability of individuals to join a group or a health association across state lines and buy insurance."

I thought that was our job?
It was.
Bravo Mr. President!
Apparently the wet noodle Congress won’t make good on their promise to repeal 0care, so ‘ya gotta do what ya gotta do’.
About friggin’ time!
You are reading my mind, again!! Yes, yes, yes. The very 1st EO is no one exempt1
Love it, GO TRUMP get it done!!!
No, this needs to be a proper law passed by Congress so the left won’t be able to kill it in court.
“...Paul explained that the ERISA [Employee Retirement Income Security Act] law passed in the 1970s allows corporations to purchase insurance across state lines.
“If my corporation is in 20 different states, I can already buy insurance across state lines,” Paul said. “It’s self-insured type of insurance, but it’s the insurance people liked the most and it’s had the least rise in premiums. It’s about 30 percent of the market. It already exists.” “
That’s the method.
Congress is just insufferable these days.
...
True, but that’s been true for a long time. Just think of what Trump is up against.
I think it’s time that we freepers give President Trump a big applause. Buying health insurance across state lines is arguably the most significant executive order that he can do to kill obamacare. Once competition takes root, everyone who actually pays their own health insurance will shop health insurance like we do for rent, home, and auto insurance. Competition will bring the cost down and coverages up.
The benchmark Silver Plan premium for a 27-year old in Arizona went from $196/month in 2016 to $422 in 2017.

The PPACA is causing higher-income young people in Arizona to grossly overpay for coverage.
In Alaska, the 2017 benchmark plan price for the 27-year old is $760/month, up from $590/month for 2016.
I think Murkowski and McCain would vote yes on selling across state lines.
Their voters would have the most to gain.
It’s a good start, however wouldn’t you still have to buy ObamaCare approved plans that don;t give you much choice as to the “required” coverage.
Every 10-14 days he should do an EO on commiecare.
Not sure how this is going to pass judicial muster. States have the power to regulate insurance companies in their borders. Not the legislative branch and certainly not the executive branch.
President Trump will sign the executive order, just like he did the travel ban. And just like the ban it will be challenged in court. We’ll be lucky to see any benefit from this until next summer, if then. Sorry to be negative, that’s just the way things are.
As the Supreme Court has ruled on several occasions.
You’re right about what Trump is saddled with.
I do want to touch on the idea it has been insufferable for a long time, because I think (and I think you’ll agree), something significant has changed.
While we did have the majority under Obama, we were incapable of forcing things through. So yes, Congress was insufferable.
Now that we have a majority in each body, and a Republican in the White House, the insufferable nature of Congress has gone exponential. Insufferable to the X...
They have refused to achieve. It’s the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.
It was.
Actually it isn't. It's the state's job.
A move that could get Rand’s vote on the current bill? Before the expiration of the 50-vote reconciliation threshold on Friday?
I thought DJT was supposed to REMOVE THE PENALTY because I dont want to pay an item from the gubmint. That was the reason why I voted (aside from the wall with explosives).
