The NFL has a choice to make and it’s an easy one: political activism or sports. The American people will only tolerate one of those so they had best choose wisely. There are two prevailing perspectives here and both of them cannot coexist leaving the NFL unscathed. On one side the NFL players enjoy a league minimum pay of $465,000 a year while their fans earn a median household income of $56,515. The players lead rarified lives that don’t appear to leave room for understanding just who their supporters are.
Football devotees utilize their hard earned money to buy $250 jerseys to wear at the expensively priced games, or to purchase a cable subscription to Sunday Ticket or Red Zone to enjoy the game at home with friends and family. This is can’t-miss activity that some football enthusiasts attend with a regularity resembling church fervor. But why are fans so devoted to the anthem and flag? Aren’t they just symbols?

Don’t tell them that, tell them to keep fighting for what they believe, and if they really want to make a statement, BURN THE FLAG on the Field during the Anthem.

Personally, I can not wait for this years “stupid Bowl” game to lose MILLIONS in ticket sales and Stupid Bowl CRAP sales!
Not to mention the millions spent on those crap advertisements that all suck other than the Clydssdales or Louie the Lizard!

This whole thing with the NFL is the thing that has finally galvanized us to truly “Go Galt”, and it isn’t going to stop with the NFL.
I just hope it’s very evident how much this has cost them.
I like to watch the commercials. Some of them are incredibly creative.

Yep, meet a couple planes when they unload the coffins. Tour Walter Reed or Bethesda or whatever it is called now, and talk to the guys who have been there for a couple years, who are now learning how to walk, eat, dress themselves, etc.

The thing is, it doesn’t matter anymore. People aren’t going to come back to the NFL, even if they properly respect the Anthem.
Our problems with the NFL were starting long before this Anthem stuff.
This will all work itself out if everyone that is upset with the NFL would just stop watching.
If you normally DVR games, stop it. If you have Comcast/DirecTV/Dish make sure that none of your channels are tuned in to NFL games. Your viewing choices with these companies is monitored and the results are used along with Nielsen ratings.
It is especially good if you watched every week up until this last week. The longer you stay away the more impact it will have.
Then stick with it. He patient.
They made their choice.
