Just one week after many members of the Patriots kneeled during the national anthem, a new report indicates that they will all stand together as a team next time out.
A league source told CSNNEs Gary Tanguay on Tuesday that all Patriots players will stand during the national anthem before next Sundays game against the Carolina Panthers at Gillette Stadium. Many stood and interlocked their arms during the anthem last Sunday before the game against the Texans, while a large portion kneeled.
Teams across the league had similar demonstrations last Sunday, which were mostly a response to controversial comments made by President Donald Trump about NFL players who sit or kneel during the national anthem. The president described such players as sons of bitches during a rally in Alabama last Friday, also declaring that they should be fired for doing so.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft was among many executives across the league to respond to Trumps comments, saying he was deeply disappointed by his remarks. Quarterback Tom Brady also said he disagrees with what Trump said, supporting his teammates right to choose what to do during the anthem. Both Kraft and Brady stood during the anthem last Sunday, while Brady locked arms with Patriots receiver Phillip Dorsett.
The decision of many players to kneel during the national anthem in Foxboro drew a wide range of reactions, some negative. Former Patriots tackle Matt Light said he felt ashamed to be a Patriot for the first time in his life. Fans appeared split on the issue of players protesting the anthem.
If the Patriots do end up standing as a collective group during the national anthem next Sunday, it will send the message of unity that the players were trying to send last weekend.

The actions last weekend were so egregious that there is no forgiving.
Besides, nothing has changed. These people hate America... and don’t let them claim otherwise (watched a guy last night try to spin it as, no the really do love America). Actions speak louder than words and last weekend spoke VERY LOUDLY.
Too bad no one will be watching to see it.
2 other things I’d like to see happen, not that it matters what I want lol.
1. All tax support and economic favoritism and protectionism currently in place for the NFL is removed.
2. When Antifa and BLM show their full intent (as they’re claiming they plan to start doing on Nov 4 this year), every useful idiot, regardless of color, job title, position or career type, who took a knee, in word or deed, in support be held accountable as an accessory.
The destructionists have no hope of pulling their crap without support and encouragement from the useful idiots. The useful idiots are very bit as guilty of the scumbaggery as those who throw the bombs or pull the triggers.
No, because they don’t think they did anything wrong!
With the ratings now in, it sounds like their agents have finished the number crunching and let the players know just how expensive their ‘knees’ are going to be at contract time, if they don’t put a real quick end to these antics.
As it is, like others have said (indirectly), the people now tuning out the NFL are likely tuning it out permanently, as we now know just what the NFL players, and their entire organizations, think of us.
And one hint to the NFL: DRESSING IN PINK next month is not going to help you guys recover Middle America, not at all.
If they stand with their arms linked “in unity” it’s the exact same thing as kneeling as the “unity” their linking arms about is with those who chose to kneel. They can’t be allowed to get away with what amounts to as a standing kneeling position.
Tune them out, turn them out, and find something productive to do with your time.
They’ll stand and lock arms in defiance. It’s the same black lives matter message. They haven’t learned a thing.
Done
They still have a goal of sending a message of “unity”. We all know that means unity, in support of BLM.
Screw em.
Don’t drink Budweiser...
Trump doesn’t decide for me. Locked arms are not cool. It’s just another way that they show unity in support of BLM

TOO FREAKING LATE!!
Fire Godell. That might do it.
To little to late pussycats!
stand up, then sit down, stand up , sit down....
just stay in your locker rooms you idiots and we in the stands will SING our national anthem while you pick your noses..(not me because I don't go to the games..)
That is their name from the day Bob Kraft wrote an official team letter throwing his team's FULL SUPPORT behind kneeling in protest against America, our beloved nation's flag and antem during our beloved country's national anthem. What sealed the deal took place last Sunday when HALF the TURNCOATS on the team "bent the knee" in submission and to the racist ONLY Black Lives Matter, while the OTHER HALF OF THE TEAM INCLUDING TOM BRADY STOOD LOCKED ARM IN ARM IN TOTAL SUPPORT OF THE TRAITOROUS, UNPATRIOTIC, ACTIONS OF THE TEAM MATES KNEELING BEFORE THEM!
Yes I am YELLING in disgust. The whole team is an utter disgrace.
Our entire family have been die hard Patriots fans for literally decades and we are PERMANENTLY THROUGH with the New England Turncoats. We will no longer watch them, support them OR the National Felon League; buy any of the team, or nfl merchandise. Not one penny, not one ounce of emotional support will be given to the anti-American New England Turncoats, or the nfl ever again, no matter what they do, no matter what they say, period!
Too bad Pats - you lost me already.
Think I’ll go fishing on Sunday...
Amen, Brother - me too.
Had been looking forward to a Pats game here in Tampa, since I moved down five years ago.
Was offered a ticket yesterday to the upcoming game on Thursdy night, Oct. 5th.
Told my buddy thanks, but I’ll pass.
The anti-American National Felon League has, to quote Admiral Yamato: "awoken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve".
We are at war; the NFL started this cultural war against US, against America and they are attacking EVERYTHING WE STAND FOR, BELIEVE IN AND HOLD NEAR AND DEAR.
Like WWII, there can not be any, truce, or "compromise" for the sake of their false notion of "unity", no "cessation of hostilities" with those who have made themselves our enemies with out a cause.
We Americans who love our county more than any game have now taken up the fight forced upon us and like "the greatest generation" we too will settle for only one outcome: NOTHING LESS THAT THEIR TOTAL SURRENDER!
We choose to STAND; we choose to "Live Free or Die", rather than "bend the knee" and subugate ourselves, our families, and our beloved nation to the racist, socialist, PC tyranny and perverted ideology of the National Felon League.
Too little, too late. Brady and Kraft are unAmerican scum.
No, I don't think we are. The point of moving political protest to this particular arena was to make the whole thing about something more than football, at which the demonstrators have succeeded. What they failed to apprehend was that in doing so they make it about something more than Black Lives Matter, at which they also have succeeded. It turns out that the choice is between patriotism and Political Correctness, the latter of which has grown so overblown with a sense of self-importance that its proponents think they have superseded patriotism. They are finding out that they have not. That lesson needs to be brought home once and for all time, and since they've selected this particular battlefield, right here and right now.
My personal view is that I'll consider returning to viewership when every single NFL player, coach, and owner who took a knee to disgrace and humiliate his flag, his anthem, and his country is out of the game for life. Until then I'm gone. The point needs to be driven home unmistakably, with no room for media spin or activist re-framing. Anyone who has decided that his loyalty to his team supersedes his loyalty to his country needs to go.
Or NFL football needs to go. That might be simpler. And I'm fine with it.
