I predict the NFL will whore around for awhile, and then when ratings continue to collapse, she will try and make nice and attempt to reconcile with her fans. The people should say no way. The NFL went All In Criminal Thug. It must be mortally wounded. Only then will there ever be hope for a rebirth.
The next step is that we should watch and support the NFL because if you don’t, you are Russian traitors who hate women and minorities.
They are not even close to full meltdown yet. About two seasons away from trying to mandate every streaming package carry the NFL, as a legal requirement.
There can be no hope for rebirth.
The brain injury issue (spurred on by advances in medical imaging technology) is beginning to kill youth football. Like boxing before it, football as a major sport has effectively developed terminal cancer.
It will never heal from this high speed crash.
Actually, I think the NFL went south long, long ago. The kneeling is just the final nail in the coffin.
The NFL lost all my respect when they became apologists for thug players who raped, abused women, took drugs, assaulted people, murdered, and basically lived outside the law with rarely more than a slap on the wrist. The owners (and the police and politicians who worshipped sports) didn’t care as long as they were winning games and - more importantly - bringing in money. Most of the fans didn’t seem to care, either. But the kneeling business finally hit a nerve.
