Why (Rino) Bob Corker’s retirement could shake up the Senate
Vox ^ | September 26 | Andrew Prokup

Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) announced Tuesday that he will not run for another term in 2018, setting up an open contest for his seat in next year’s midterms.

The announcement is big news. Corker chairs the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is known as an independent, pragmatic, and policy-minded voice in the Senate GOP. So his exit will have ramifications in the chamber — for one, he won’t have to worry about reelection as he casts his votes over the next 15 months.

His decision is also the retirement of a leading Republican who’s criticized President Donald Trump — Corker said in August that Trump hadn’t demonstrated “the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to demonstrate in order to be successful.” (Trump responded with a sharp tweet declaring that Tennessee was “not happy” with Corker.)

>>No, no, no, no, no... he’s handicapped by his kindness and popularity.<< That might be a great insight. I didn't think of that, but you may have just given an astute observation. Remember when McCain came back from Vietnam? Same here, maybe.

Yes it will be, we vote. Thats how we do.
Let the left go throw bricks and tweet. We’ll just vote in our resistance. DJT was the first step now we see some other house cleaning needs to be done.

It’s an unambiguous pattern we’ve seen with Right-leaning celebrities elected to office... they’re simply not hardened.

AZ has a real chance of putting two conservative Senators in DC in 2018.
You can bet the Swamp will fight tooth and nail to keep this from happening

Hopefully McCain will be gone from the Senate within a year.

We should be so lucky. Worthless, back-stabbing traitors like McCain seem to hang on beyond all levels of endurance. I think the old scum bucket will serve out his full term.

Corker knows the deplorable are on to him. He must go so the new Corker can run as a conservative but vote with MM.

Vetting these candidates must be brutal.

Brannon Palin Gorka will screen every one.

Great!

“Why (Rino) Bob Corker’s retirement could shake up the Senate”

Corker will soon discover the need to visit and shake hands with strangers in New Hampshire.

Yes, he will absolutely consider it. It is called self-regard.

People in TN would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Not all of us.

Heller is done but not because of amnesty. He played the Obamacare issue all wrong. His replacement will sadly be a Dem.

New Hampshire? Do you think he’s considering the “big prize?” He’d have as much of a chance as John Kasich.

Pillsbury Dough boy big luther strange was the first, squishy GOPe Toxic Mitch stooge.

President Trump gets a real Conservative.

MS McDaniel’s is considering a run.

TN has to have Mae Beavers for Governor. La Raza Boyd and squishy GOPe are not acceptable.

Same goes for Corker’s seat. Marsha Blackburn has been in DC to long 16 yr, time to retire to.

AND WE HAVE TO KEEP MOORE’S WIN, he faces a Clinton uber liberal doug jones in Dec. $$$ needed.

Conservative Revolt domino effect needs to continue, not just in DC but in states. FL just voted in DEMS.

“People in TN would vote for him in a heartbeat”

Some, no doubt, would vote for him because he is a sports star and a good guy. Some, however, will not vote for someone just because they are famous and have an R behind their name.

Where does Manning stand on a border wall, DACA, reduced immigration levels, deportation, mandatory e-Verify, federally funded health care, erc., etc.?
