West Point Cadet Tweets Kaepernick Support: 'Communism Will Win'; UPDATE West Point Responds

UPDATE : West Point has responded , saying they’re looking into this matter, that Rapone’s chain of command is aware, and that his actions do not reflect the values of West Point or the U.S. Military:

The U.S. Military Academy strives to develop leaders who internalize the academy's motto of Duty, Honor, Country, and who live the Army values. Second Lieutenant Rapone's actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army.

As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform. Second Lieutenant Rapone's chain of command is aware of his actions and is looking into the matter.

The academy is prepared to assist the officer's chain of command as required.

So, while the nation has to deal with “take a knee” syndrome that’s infested sports, the last bastion of apolitical entertainment—there’s something going on at West Point. Second Lt. Spenser Rapone is an infantry officer and a member of Democratic Socialists of America. He sent some support for Colin Kaepernick via Twitter, showing him in uniform, with “communism will win” etched inside his officer’s cap. He also tweeted a photo of himself wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt under his uniform.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and his national anthem antics have reached new heights since last year. Almost 150 NFL players took a knee for Sunday’s games after President Trump went after those who engage in such antics in professional sports; Trump was at an Alabama rally last Friday when he made these remarks. Law Newz was able to verify the identity of the West Point cadet, who isn’t able to answer specific questions due to him “being currently in the field.” Still, I’m pretty sure that you cannot be political while in uniform in the U.S. Military.

Rapone posts under the handle @punkproletarian and is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Under the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick, he tweeted an image of himself raising the left clenched-fist of solidarity, support and resistance as well as the message, “Communism Will Win” taped inside of his West Point uniform cap. Also visible in the photograph is Rapone’s Combat Infantryman Badge–meaning he has fought in active ground combat.

Rapone followed up his initial post with retweeted images of other #VeteransForKaepernick in their combat uniforms. LawNewz verified the legitimacy of the photograph with Rapone himself.

The site also linked to a Medium post by Rapone. Also, doesn't Rapone's cause pretty much call for the overthrow of the U.S. government and our Constitution?

Amen!

I can only hope we find out who sponsored the bastard to West Point. The MSN will not dig for it. I figure we will never know.

After Nam, the Academy wasn’t the same Academy, it all changed. I was told by a nephew that went through in the mid 80’s; “It isn’t the West Point you knew anymore.” he too was an EM before entering. He did his 4 year obligation and got out.

Unless the pansies that have infected the military have pranced down into West Point and they just slap his hands, this guy's a goner.

I'm certain he is violating several uniform military codes by blatantly being anti-America with his uniform on. Can't do that.

They better rift him out now before he infiltrates the ranks.

Unfortunately, he will find that the tuition to West Point isn’t merely “forgiven”. He will likely owe a lot of money.

Bondsman,

Stormer in his post # 58 identified the badges and medals. Hot Tabasco says that the cadet was prior service, which makes sense to explain the medals and badges. The Army still has the ‘green to gold’ program of sending enlisted soldiers to prep school and on to West Point. If these photos are from graduation day in June 2016, he would have been commissioned as a 2nd LT at the graduation ceremony.

At first I found it hard to believe this commie got through West Point without exposing himself.

Then, I remembered his President was the muslim/commie Obama.

The guy in a blue suit and sunglasses by commie's left side, looks like he could be a brother or father to this scum bag.

I believe you’re right on. 0bama, his administration and a few of his perfumed princes are surely how this turkey got through.

You may well right about his dad too.

If he has a good conduct medal then he’s prob prior enlisted. His enlisted chain of command should be accountable for this disgrace.

A dishonorable discharge isn’t enough. Unless something isn’t done to clamp down on his contacts, movements and mouth, he will likely move to a communist country (Cuba, NK) or terrorist state, and tell, give, teach the enemies of our country everything we taught him.

The easy way to do it is to pull his security clearance. He cannot do his job as an officer without it (e.g., cannot use encryption radios)

If he has a GCM, then he is definitely prior enlisted. The CIB makes him a combat vet too.
