Was Alton Nolen mentally ill when he beheaded a female co-worker and tried to behead a second woman at a food plant in Oklahoma on Sept. 25, 2014, or was he simply being a good Muslim by following the dictates of the Quran?

That’s the issue the jury will have to decide in the 33-year-old Muslim convert’s trial, which opened last week and continued Monday in Norman, Oklahoma.

Nolen told police in 2014 he beheaded his co-worker, Colleen Hufford, and tried to behead another woman at the plant because he felt “oppressed” as a Muslim.

“You know all I was doing was … what I was supposed to do as a Muslim,” Nolen said. “It’s in the Quran.”

I would have no problem being on the jury.

I am reminded of:

(1) General Napier (A proper English officer) probably summed up such cultural/religious differences best.

Then again there was CS Lewis who described a similar situation in his novel, “The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader”,

“We can respect your custom in slave trading, so long as you respect our custom of hanging slave traders wherever we find them.”

The poor guys needs to pay with his life by our customers.

The amount of publicly stated support for the most brutal aspects of sharia and jihad, is overwhelming. Leading clerics of the sunni, shia and wahabi sects preach hatred towards Jews and other infidels, subjugation of women, death to homosexuals, etc., etc. And the western media turn a blind eye, in spite of the deadly consequences caused by this hateful doctrine.

Imagine if the Pope (a real Pope, not the Fake who is currently in the Vatican), the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the heads of the Lutheran, Presbyterian and Southern Baptist Convention, were all preaching hatred towards Jews, muslims, and people not of their particular branch of Christianity. Imagine they were preaching the subjugation of women, the establishment of separate Christian courts, the murder of homosexuals. And imagine if as a result of these teachings we had frequent bombings, and knife, gun, vehicle attacks on innocent people all the while yelling “Christ is Greatest”.

The media turn a blind eye to the outrages of islam because islam is the enemy of western democracy and individual freedoms. The media think they can control the islamic demons they have helped let loose from Pandora’s box. But if they get their wish, they will be among the first victims of the new islamic overlords.

Another section of the Constitution which has been discarded by the courts. Three years is not “speedy”. One hundred and fifty years ago this murderer would have been tried, convicted, and hanged within 12 months.

Thanks...I found out it works on both Chrome and Firefox on our Desktop... which is Windows 7 Home Premium....BUT, on my laptop it will NOT run in Firefox (which is WIN10). Not sure I want to download Chrome onto the Laptop...but, am getting REALLY tired of Microsoft Edge telling me how much better than Firefox it is...

I’m getting ready to toss Firefox because of all the built in security warnings for Java, etc. Chrome is not my first choice but it doesn’t complain about anything. Since it is a work machine, that’s fine with me. For my personal machines, Firefox is fine.
