Villanueva Apologizes for Standing for the National Anthem

Yesterday, Pittsburgh Steeler tackle Alejandro Villenueva was hailed as a hero for seeming to buck the tide of disrespect for the United States that is the flavor du jour in the Roger Goodell’s NFL. While the Steelers cowered in the locker room rather than pretend for a couple of minutes that they were proud to be Americans, Villanueva, West Point graduate, Army Ranger, and decorated combat veteran, stood alone on the sideline.

Now Villanueva says it was all just a big, big mistake. This is via Chris Adamski who covers the Steelers for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Cut him some slack, and wear his jersey with the pride that he deserves. He is young and inexperienced in this situation. He did exactly the right thing, but of course, in today’s USA, he will be vilified by roughly half the country. He also got a tongue lashing from his Black coach for daring to defy his order for 100% compliance to stay in the locker room.

It may be the end of his football career because he has been labeled as a “trouble maker” to the owners of the NFL plantation, but he should have no problem finding a more honorable career.

You bet he was forced to apologize - peer pressure from the over 70% BLM sympathetic black playerz.

Modern day minstrels and the NFL is a modern day minstrel show with Viagra and fast food ads with penalty flags thrown every 30 seconds so the networks can go to commercial breaks to sell

It is just an interesting correlation.

The mental aspects of the game are important. Perhaps one can’t kneel before the game and then be in the proper mindset to succeed.

Unless that person is Tim Tebow, perhaps. But that is a different story.

The coach said he was pissed because he want “a hundred percent participation”.

“...Damn the left for politicizing everything in the US....”
Liberalism kills everything it touches, including the NFL.
At some point, the pushback is gonna get really ugly.

If his Black coach can ORDER 100% compliance to stay in the locker room, he can damn well ORDER 100% compliance to stand for the Anthem.

Something tells me he got threatened behind the scenes, but for an Army Ranger to knuckle under...I mean, I’m not military...but that just seems like an ultimate disgrace upon himself and betrayal of his Ranger colleagues.

What the hell is going on?

Guy's gotta pay his mortgage. Gotta feed the kids . . . He's a minstrel just like the rest of them

Screw that. I'd rather give it someone with no self-respect. What's your address? I'll throw in the garbage can outside your house. Wear it with "pride".

Err I think he said a lot more than that. He said he only spoke to the leadership and not the team. He says he could have talked to his team so they could come out with him. He is and was and will be an Army Ranger. Rangers Lead the Way.
I burned my m lynch jersey while reading what the E in the Ranger Creed stands for. I had my Ranger shirt in the vid while the lynch shirt burned.
silent no more. With an entire state that hillary really lost I think they are under the very false impression that votes equal majority..

That is exactly what I told some folks today. Villanueva didn't have to do anything. He could have walked away from it all with his head held up, a hero. He chose not to do this.$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yep. The love of money is the root of all evil. Classic example.

What the hell is going on?

If I were to give it a name it would be Operation Whipsaw.

...Understanding and operating in the information domain poses a number of novel challenges, however. Many tools are available today to reveal whether rockets and bombs hit their targets or otherwise achieved their tactical goals. But no such tools are available to rigorously assess the effects of the volleys of information that are traded through social media and other communications channels.

DARPA’s Quantitative Crisis Response (QCR) program aims to address those challenges. It is developing suites of largely automated digital tools that can help operational partners better understand how information is being used by adversaries and to quantitatively predict and assess—in real time and at scale—the effects of those campaigns and of countermeasures.

While the Steelers cowered in the locker room

They were actually standing in the tunnel for some reason, several of them with hands over heart, saluting. I honestly don't get what Tomlin was trying to accomplish with this stunt - he said he didn't want to get involved in the politics, but today the Steelers are the one team everyone is talking about in relation to this nonsense.
