Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon reportedly said during a Monday night rally in Alabama that the Republican establishment faces a "day of reckoning."
For Mitch McConnell and Ward Baker and Karl Rove and Steven Law all the instruments that tried to destroy Judge Moore and his family your day of reckoning is coming, Bannon told the crowd, according to Politico.
Bannon made the remarks at a rally for former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, who on Tuesday faces off against Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.) in the GOP Senate primary runoff.
Bannon was referring to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), former senior advisor to President George W. Bush Karl Rove, former National Republican Senatorial Committee executive director Ward Baker, and Senate Leadership Fund president Steven Law.
But more important, for the donors who put up the [campaign] money and the corporatists that put up the money, your day of reckoning is coming, too.
President Trump campaigned for Strange Friday night in Huntsville, Ala. The alliance has put the president at odds with one of his former top advisers as well to his base of supporters.
Trump endorsed Strange in August before the Republican primary, a move that united him with Senate Republican leadership.
The winner of Tuesdays runoff will head to the December general election to defend the seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

I think Trump is playing the Establishment. He needed something and negotiated his support of Strange for something. We just don’t know what it is.
But if it had to do with healthcare, the wall or tax relief, the Establishment hasn’t lived up to their end of the bargain. My bet is Moore knows this and when he wins today, Trump will be right there endorsing him and we will find out what the Establishment reneged on.
Of course. The fork gambit was a win win for the President
Bannon for President. Great speech.
My guess is Moore wins, Graham Cassidy passes, these d**ches get the message that a seed change is coming and they start getting aboard the Trump Train or they are are out, they know it....
My wife and I are praying for Justice Roy Moore today.
“...Trump...negotiated his support of Strange for something...”
Agree!! This is my conclusion as well. The Establishment most likely will not live up to their end of the bargain (or did not, if it involved the healthcare repeal not passing), but this way (endorsing Strange) the President lived up to his end of the deal and the establishment is exposed if(and when) they do not support the President.
It seems clear to me that this is why the President endorsed Strange and is almost certainly going to be happy when Moore wins.
Thanks for the link to Bannon’s speech.
What an intelligent man and speaker.
A pleasure to listen to.
Go Judge Moore!
Time for BOTH sides to tone down the rhetoric. Both candidates would be better for the USA than any Democrat.
Wait for the “Roy Moore wants to take your welfare and put you back in chains.” ads from the GOP-e should Moore win today.
I hope so!

I agree. There’s some kind of strategy going on.
My bet is Moore knows this and when he wins today, Trump will be right there endorsing him and we will find out what the Establishment reneged on.

Trump flat out stated at the AL rally, somewhat emphatically I thought, that if Moore wins the primary, Trump will support him. I just laughed when I heard him say it because I’m sure he’d rather have Moore who will vote “Trump” as opposed to ‘Big Luther’ who will vote “McConnell”.
It could be that Trump is sending a message to the establishment that they are losers, and that this isn’t about Trump, but instead the American people people, and it’s their movement to Make America Great Again.
I hope Trump learns today that as we the people elected him, it is we the people for whom he works.
McConnell and ilk will soon be voted out if we just keep working for true conservatives.
“Oh, please, brer fox, don’t thows me in dat briar patch! Lawdy Lawd no!
My thoughts as well. Trump gave a veiled hint in his speech Friday that something was "cooking" and to take his public words with a grain of salt and some imagination..........
Thanks for the video.
Bannon left the administration, but never left the employ of President Trump. Bannon was there as a “private citizen”... on orders from Trump. Trump is playing a Stradivarius while McConnell & crew are picking on a ukulele.
