Part of me wonders why the NFL is taking this position. Clearly, they think they can win. Perhaps Nate Silver and others are assuring them that they will prevail.

I mean, we should step back for a moment and consider why they think these protests are a good idea. They have a tremendous amount of market analytics, with top PhD consultants analyzing the data.

So, again, I ask: why is the entire NFL - league, teams & players - so confident?
