I too have lots of relatives that are vets...3 brothers, 3 bil's, one husband, one nephew and several cousins on my husbands side, and some uncles....
look, I'm not watching the nfl...I just can't....I don't miss it...hopefully college will remain somewhat pure but they may even go over to the dark side....
just don't spend money on these brats...no gear, no tickets, no tv packages..

I was arguing the same point with a family member, who went ape-caca when I said the soccer was the most popular sport in Communist/socialist countries. “Think about it...they run around in circles for 3 hours and no one scores. Then at the end, they pick one guy who is allowed to free kick the ball straight at the goalie as many times as it takes for him to score. How is that not communist? And all the fans do is get drunk, sing songs, pee on their seats and fight. Stupidest damn game in the history of the world.”

You're right - We are just witnessing the tip of the iceberg of this garbage. Colleges, High Schools, Junior High and Pee Wee teams will now emulate their "heros". Some have already started. They believe it's the IN thing to do and cool.
I'm glad my boys are grown and older men now, and not faced with this coming garbage.
I’m 71 years old and have been a Dallas Cowboys fan ever since they drafted Roger Staubach. I will never watch a Cowboys game again and will never buy any of their merchandise again. I’m a Navy vet partially because of Roger Staubach. I have an American flag pin that I will start wearing today. My small way of fighting back.
You know I think many have missed the point you have made here. Taking a knee before the national anthem begins and then standing during the national anthem are actually cowardly moves. Also cowardly are the moves by the teams who stayed in the tunnel rather than on the field during the playing of the national anthem. Those people were simply afraid to take a stand so they straddled the fence as it were.
I have also noticed that the teams who have players that are doing these things are bending over backwards and twisting themselves into pretzels to claim that they are not unpatriotic and they are not showing disrespect for the Armed Forces. This tells me that they are well aware of what the great majority of people in this country feel about what they are doing and they are very worried about it.
This is the post Obama world. Get used to it.
Why is the NFL taking this position? I mean if you can’t see what this is really all about from the standpoint of the NFL then you are truly blind. This is all about money. The NFL is terrified that the players in the NFL, almost exclusively black, will somehow disrupt the flow of money by possibly going on strike and refusing to play the game if any of them are disciplined.
Keep in mind it is the customers, the public who spends their money on the products of the advertisers who fund the NFL which in turn funds the teams which intern pay the players. As I said it is all about the money in fact it is always about the money.
Perhaps not a Trump win. But most certainly not an NFL or NFL players win. If you go to the websites running stories about what the NFL players are doing by showing disrespect for our flag and read the comments, you will see that even on the liberal sites they are running easily ten-to-one against the NFL players and the NFL owners for commenting and supporting these players.
I have been a serious Penguins fan since 2008. Three Stanley Cups later, I can say it has been a good ride.
They should have all been fired on day one. All of them.
If I worked at Walmart and stood up in on a counter and started spouting “HILLARY CLINTON SHOULD BE IN JAIL NOW!” I’d be fired - and rightfully so.
You don’t have the right of “freedom of speech” to disrupt someone’s business (not to mention cost them money) just because you feel inclined to “make a statement.”
It’s absolutely disgusting - and just the next step in the endless war the left has begun on us because, like little children, they simply will not accept that they (gasp!) actually lost an election.

I can’t even remember how long we’ve had DirecTV and NFL Sunday. We’ve had it basically from the beginning.
