Yep. Football is just the modern version of the Roman Circus. The liquored up oafs who buy these tickets aren’t going to skip their party time.
Trump is right, when people stop going to games, watching on TV, and stop buying sponsor products the NFL will force players to stand in a NY second.
LOL! Yes, they seem to have ramped it up a notch or two recently. ;)
I’d really like to see all these teams go broke. Then all those millionaire players could play football in their backyards, or on prison football teams somewhere.
Looks like they know who signs the paycheck.
Let the free market take care of it now. Maybe someone will earn less money. People will turn this garbage off. Less movies, mainstream media and sports may be good for the country.
Then principled fans should not attend the game. It will be interesting to see how many that is.
This is the exact reaction Trump wanted.
There were some good college games on yesterday.
Did not know that. Screw the greedy, Military-hating NFL
I’m done with the NFL this year. The POTUS tweet repeated what I thought, but the reaction from owners, players association, Goodell, media, etc sealed it. They don’t respect my country or me. Screw em.
The people running around with footballs and baseballs and big mouths are over-paid and spoiled from an early age. Now they whine like a bunch of big spoiled babies. Who cares what they have to say?
They should change the policy back and remove the platform for these protests.
wtf assh8les
I want 1 steeler with balls to walk out on that field and stand for the national anthem and tell his coach to fk himself.
I’m not convinced that many are going to join in boycotting the NFL. I have conservative friends who are bitching and/or ignoring and still going to and watching the games.
I guess being spat on is not as important as watching the spitters play a game.
I’m a Pittsburgh area resident and a fan of the Steelers, and let’s face it, Pittsburgh fans are among the most rabid in the country so they’re always going to support their team no matter what. I think this is a brilliant move on Tomlin’s part. He’s removing the team from any chance of controversy. They’re going to be focused on playing the game. No energy will be wasted in debating the issue, before, during or after the game. I wish Coach Tomlin would express a sense of patriotism but if this is all we’re gonna get from him, I’ll keep quiet for now.
I guess the NFL really does stand for Not For Long!
