The sports world has responded to President Trumps criticisms of NFL players who protest against the national anthem. On Friday night, Trump gave a fiery speech in Huntsville, Alabama, while speaking at a rally for Republican Senate candidate Luther Strange. President Trump referred to NFL players who protest the anthem as as SOBs. He also said that it would be a winning public relations move if an NFL owner were to fire a player for such a protest.
Trump said:
See the video at the link.
By Saturday evening, the NFL Players Association, Commissioner Goodell, and the leadership of several different NFL franchises, had responded to Trump.

The owners and players picked the wrong side of this fight. They will lose badly. It will literally cost owners and players billions of dollars based on the slide in attendance and network viewing. Hopefully Goodell will lose his job over this. They are extremely fortunate that the network contract runs through 2021/22. Players can look forward to drastically lower contract renewals as this cushion expires and the attendance and network viewing sinks.

Jerry Jones said recently that if his players disrespect our flag they will be out of a job! So that’s one NFL owner who has a brain

Billionaire owners standing up for millionaire athletes. Joe six-pak is the bully. Methinks the owners are scared of blacks.

Who cares about their opinions about the President’s warranted comments. . . they have shown front and center what they think of the United States of America and more importantly the many lives that have been lost to give them the right to be stupid.

The owners don’t really have a choice here. It’s astonishing to have the President of the United States — whose every public statement is covered by the national media and seen by his 39 million Twitter followers — stand up there and publicly castigate an entire industry like this. I don’t think I could even imagine such a thing as recently as a few years ago.

They no longer wish to be the football league of this nation.
Let them get some other taxpayers to pay for their stadiums.

They love professional football, but they also feel that they outnumber fans who get their incomes from the private sector.

The owners, the league, and the players’ union have had over a year to fix this. This started under Obama’s watch, well before Trump was Elected. They just hoped it would go away or that no one would care. They have way underestimated this one.
To: Maudeen
Many NFL owners are totally screwed up people.

Many global leftists in the administrative offices of their global corporations also love professional football. They’re still not the majority of fans, though.

The phrase in the Dolphin statement, “Start a conversation,” is Commie/Alinsky-speak for, “My view is the ONLY view, and you WILL submit.”

I don’t think so, to them:
American Football is one of those ‘traditional institutions’ that has to be destroyed.
What better way to do that than to piss off the fans (typically Patriotic).
What better way to piss off the (patriotic) fans than by embedding non-patriotic behavior into the institution.
