Austria, Germany and France have threatened to stay away from the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea amid security fears over the nuclear-armed North.

Winter Olympics powerhouse Austria also revealed it could stay away from the Pyeongchang Games next February if security concerns deepened.

France's Sports Minister Laura Flessel said yesterday: 'If this gets worse and we do not have our security assured, then our French team will stay here.'

If both U.S. and Japan skip it as well, the Olympic Game is done. If things are not looking up soon, which I doubt, both countries could probably stay out. This could be part of gradual move to clear out outsiders who could be trapped in S. Korea and become part of collateral damage when things go hot.

These governments might want to go and discuss this with their athletes. I suspect that they already have plans and no intention of skipping the games.

The same crowd ought to be having serious problems with the 2022 FIFA World Cup soccer games in Qatar....with a fear of ISIS terror acts. Yet, they don’t seem to be talking over that issue.

All three of those same nations would inspire many foreigners to say the same thing about them. France, Germany and Austria have all absorbed the shock of multiple terrorist actions.
I suspect tourism is sinking, especially in France and Germany.
