“Service dogs are for blind people. I’m getting tired of all the “emotional support animal” nonsense.”

I suggest you research your state’s service dog laws for vets with PTSD and/or research why a PTSD vet would want one.

We expect our young men and women to go off and fight endless wars and all too often many of these folks find themselves in a life or death situation that leaves their personalities scarred for life. It’s difficult for many to understand that PTSD just does not cause a continuous awake reliving of the stressors that caused PTSD along with terrifying nightmares. But that it causes ones entire personality to be different from others. Many simply cannot bond with another person, but can find friendship with a dog.

For those of you that find this concept just totally stupid, I’m glad for you, for you have obviously been sheltered and are leading a better life than the fellow with the dog.

Now I do agree a little better judgement could have been used in bringing such a large animal into a restaurant, but then again, if a black blind person did such a thing, would the lady have went off?

I am one of those who can't comprehend what a PTSD service dog is for. I spent 17 months in direct combat and had the "shakes" as bad as anybody for years afterward. What exactly is the dog for?

I know all about PTSD.

Not everyone with PTSD needs to drag around their 150 pound "emotional support pet" along with them everywhere they go. I'm getting tired of all the snowflakes. Just because he's a veteran doesn't make him special. I'm a veteran as well.

Plenty of veterans are doing just fine without their emotional support pet. Buy him a teddy bear or something.
