“Why is this jealous little old twit so powerful?”

The Senate is seniority based. The longer you have been in office the more power you have and the more favors you can call in. John McCain should be the poster mummy for term limits.

Recently, McCain said something odd. He said that if Arizona’s (Republican) governor was in favor of the bill he would reluctantly support it. The governor issued a press release that very afternoon stating that the bill had his full support. I suspect the governor had threatened McCain, perhaps with having him declared incompetent. Whatever it was, it wasn’t enough to keep McCain focused long enough for the vote. We can only hope the governor will move quickly to end McCain’s term and replace him with a true conservative. However, McCain has lots of money so this route would be a real struggle. It would take a real judge to make the call.

McCain’s statements regarding his vote sound like perfect rationale. I doubt he wrote them as I’ve heard him speak recently and, while he may sound more lucid than Pelosi, I don’t think he’s capable of that much logical discourse. The real problem, however, appears to be emotional rather than logical. McCain was insulted by Trump and he is not a forgiving man. Nor does he still adhere to any conservative principles, assuming he ever did. At this point, he appears to be 100% driven by a diseased ego.

But Trump endorsed him for re-election, so Trump proves he is the bigger man to forgive and forget. But not McCain. He is intensely jealous of Trump. McCain failed to win the presidency where Trump succeeded.
