Federal Employees Ordered to Attend Anti-Leaking Classes

WASHINGTON — Employees at the Environmental Protection Agency are attending mandatory training sessions this week to reinforce their compliance with laws and rules against leaking classified or sensitive government information.

It is part of a broader Trump administration order for anti-leaks training at all executive branch agencies. The Associated Press obtained training materials from the hourlong class.

The President has no authority to fire career civil servants. Pretty much nobody has the authority to fire a career civil servant. Although we sometimes read about people's being "fired," that almost always means either reassigned or retired.

It’s all been ‘loosey goosey’ under Obama. The rules are being re-established and every employee is being re-educated, re-trained on proper handling AND the consequences. You shouldn’t have to do it because the rules/laws have been in existence all along, but this takes away all excuses ... “I didn’t know, no one told me, well other people do it and there’s been no problem”, etc. The road to severe consequences for violations is being paved ... we’ll see if the Trump admin puts any traffic on that road.

This is just a “make sure they know” class, so that firing them for violating the laws are easier.
