I think of bowtie-wearing young George Will clones in boarding school, up to no good behind closed doors, whenever I hear that word.

Single gigantic black holes gorging on surrounding matter are believed to exist in the centers of most large galaxies. Not well known is that as black holes increase in size their density actually decreases. The interiors of some super massive black holes are less dense than water. It might be possible to enter such a super massive black hole without being destroyed. Inside you could reasonably expect to find the oldest and most advanced civilizations in the universe.

I was a little worried about that myself. But since the Register is a newspaper, I figured I was safe posting in news, even though the evidence is 400 million years old. :-)

I’m sorry, #9 is for you. Don’t know how that happened.

tightest black hole....................
Ain't touchin' that one with a ten foot polack..........

It took 400 million years. And they can tell lots of things about them, based not on observing the actual motion, but based on the laws of physics.
