President Trumps speech at the United Nations General Assembly this morning was an eloquent piece of work. It warrants review in its entirety. The White House has posted the full text here. Video is embedded below (about 42 minutes).
It was in many respects a speech that returned to the traditional themes of American foreign policy running back to the Truman administration, the Marshall Plan and the founding of the United Nations itself. Trump is held out in elite opinion as some kind of a freak, but his speech constituted a fount of reason and prudence by contrast with the wishful thinking and bizarre fantasies of the Obama years.
There is much that could be said, but I think the single most important point to make is that Trump sought to impress on his audience that under his leadership the United States has moved on from the Obama era. He is the unObama. He unashamedly asserts American national sovereignty. He expresses pride in the United States and its Constitution, without qualification or apology.
There is a new sheriff in town. He confronts knotty if not insoluble problems. We pray he finds the actions to match his words.
Benjamin Netanyahu is not a disinterested party, but I think his straightforward review is entitled to serious consideration. Expressed in his own words, his reaction is not unlike my own.

The media are bashing Trump over this speech.
Some Democrats such as feinstein are weighing in, bashing Trump.
If the liberals are angry about this speech, must be a good one. I’m eager to watch the rerun tonight and see it for myself.
Screw the liberals and the UN they rode in on.
“Some Democrats such as feinstein are weighing in, bashing Trump.”
The liberal snowflakes are having a meltdown. I thought it was an excellent speech.
Those who still dont get Trump here, this speech touches on so many Conservative tenets, and tells the world many things that Conservatives have wished a president of ours would convey.
The man defending our nation, rattled off its many positives, a realistic world view, and asked other to work with us.
While he took some nations to task, he also praised others, and raised the bar concerning what other nations should seek to achieve for their people.
I cant imagine German leaders thinking theyve done what is best for their people. Other obvious nations should be rethinking their actions, based on what Trump said.
I dont suffer any delusions, but Trump set the bar, and he is on the record.
Children need adult supervision. In a way, the worlds governments do as well.
Trump touched on many Conservative points here.
It was a bedrock speech.
I considered highlighting the parts of his speech that touched on Conservative principles. I started the task of developing, and two-thirds of the way through, it became obvious I would be highlighting too many things to make it worthwhile.
Most of this was amazing stuff.
Some of it was incredible, when you realize it was delivered to the nations of the world, clearly expressing what we contemplate when we do the things we do, as a nation.
For those on this forum who still dont get Trump, you will at some point have to come to the realization, it is you not Trump who are very confused.
Is he perfect? No. Will I agree with him on everything? No. None the less, he is the perfect man for such a time as this.
If you cant get behind this man, you will never get behind a U.S. leader.

Don’t like the malevolent MSM, don’t patronize the facilitators: Disney, Comcast, Viacom, and AT&T.
It seems as if, the quality and power of the speech, can be measured by the degree of meltdown and angst on the part of the liberals and media.
“There is a new sheriff in town.”
No. There is a sheriff in town.
