Washington (CNN)US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.
The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.
Some of the intelligence collected includes communications that sparked concerns among investigators that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign, according to three sources familiar with the investigation. Two of these sources, however, cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive.

I am scanning this thread because it is interesting, and I have to scroll down and always catch this repulsive image. Can you have it removed?
One would think that would sufficient to completely pole-ax any Government investigation into Manafort for any and all reasons having to do with the Trump campaign, or anything else.
In a normal criminal case, if the government is found to have obtained evidence illegally at any time during the investigation, their whole case can get thrown out. The defense will argue that they committed a criminal act by infringing on the defendant's rights under the Constitution, and that not only is the evidence they collected illegally tainted and therefore inadmissible in court, but all the evidence collected after is tainted also, the "fruits of a poisonous tree" doctrine.
Of course, I doubt this will make any difference to Mueller, who seems to operate outside the law, like everyone else in D.C.

That is truly one of the strangest things about the whole tragedy. No elected government official will open their mouth to ask the obvious question. No one.
There must be a reason for this wire tap information to come out now. Perhaps Mueller needs it to make the case for impeachment?
