It could have been named after Harvey Milk. Could you imagine commanding the USS Harvey Milk and have to give the command to Dive?
I know there is a navy ship named after HM, having a garbage scow named after that fruit is, is......I don’t have the words.

She is manned by a civil service crew and commanded by a Coast Guard Licensed Master. The ship carries no weapons. She does carry a 12-15 man Navy detachment consisting of radiomen and signalmen headed by a Lt. or Ltjg. with a SCPO or CPO as #2.
