In the early 60s Daddy was working at Eglin. (He worked there for 30 years). He had an office between The King Hangar and an attached large office building.
The APs would come by his office when he was working the night shift and drink coffee with him. He would also sometimes let me spend the night with him at Eglin.
I could roam the King Hangar at will. There would always be a bunch of airplanes of all kinds there.
I had a model F-104 and in the instructions it said the wings had such sharp edges that they had to keep covers on them to avoid injury.
I felt the edge and the instructions were wrong. While thin they were not so sharp as to hurt you.
