Liberalism is a disease.
Teachers at Whitney High School in Cerritos, California, taught students about the slave trade by taping their wrists and forcing them to lie down in a dark room.
And they wonder why more and more parents home school?
The Huffington Post reported:
What is the right way to teach kids about the American slave trade? And when should a parent have a say?
For one mother of three, this question is at the center of an ongoing conflict she says she is having with administrators at Whitney High School in Cerritos, California. Shardé Carrington, 31, posted a Facebook message Monday to open up a dialogue about a disturbing history lesson she says was being taught to her sons eighth-grade class.

Maybe the teacher should first teach herself the proper use of “lie” and “lay”, and then she can move on to pontificating about slavery.
Was the lesson public school equals slavery?
Just have them practice filling out a 1099 form.
Not difficult for me, if I were a parent.
I would be down at the police station filling out a kidnapping report before the end of the day.
Good catch. People lie, chickens lay. My mother was an English teacher and nailed us a few times on that one.

What will the exercise look like when the evils of cannibalism are taught?
She should read about the actual slave trade a bit more
Baracoon life....
What will they be doing when the lesson of the Roman Colosseum and the putting slaves to the lions comes up? Poor students are going to have a rough day when that happens.
“Just have them practice filling out a 1099 form.”
This.
Maybe send the teacher to the taliban/alqueda/isis/is/isil/daesh for a lesson in sharia law. You know, a teachable moment.
One of the responses:
White suburban mom thinks its okay to tie up students and lock them in dark rooms to simulate slavery.
This is your brain on Leftism.
Why not include Islamic based slavery in the Mediterranean in the Middle Ages, when peaceful people had to run from the coasts to escape capture?
This was brutal slavery too.
Put them in a Gulag for a month, approximately 26 million slaves lost in Stalin’s USSR, how many slaves were there in the USA subject to the same conditions?
No, they don't wonder. They know. They just want to stop them.
Every day spent in a public school is a lesson in slavery.
They ought to fix up some real drama. Take them out to Kansas....hand them a horse and enough food for four weeks and point toward California.
This sounds like false imprisonment and kidnapping. A police report should be filed against specific teachers and administrators. Also, there must have been trauma involved. The snowflakes should understand when a civil lawsuit is filed for damages present and future.
Did she teach them about being captured by people their own color, with the ones who weren’t taken captive being slaughtered, and then sold to strangers?
Did she teach them that the people who stayed behind in Africa turned a continent of endless bounty into a place of starvation and poverty?
Did she teach that Africans still practice slavery today?
