That’s great bud can’t thank you very much can’t can’t say how great Free Republic and other friends have been head over a dozen places that I could have stayed was just really an outpouring of warm friendship you no help and everything else just great people around especially here at fr.
Thank you for checking in. Fantastic that their home is in good shape—with electricity! Putting on my Master Gardener hat—lots of trees, shrubs, and perennials etc. can be propagated by cuttings at very low to no cost. In the meantime, the property can be brightened by seeding or propagating annual flowers for the cooler months ahead. Such a relief to know they are on the road to recovery. God bless.
Sorry to hear about the trees. They make all the difference on a property. What's the probability of another strike.............
Hey Rod!
Great to hear from you, I was assuming the worst, but you seemingly have fared better than that.
So just what are you seeing for damage to your place?
Woo-hoo!
Now, is it or is it not time to go fishing?
I heard the fishing is fantastic post-hurricane.
So get out there and catch some!
Just got off the phone with my daughter she described how one huge tree weighing about 2,000 lb fell between their huge Tiki which is about 800 square foot and the house and miss both the house and the tiki same thing happened here at our house and happened at many many houses all over the keys it’s truly amazing almost Beyond coincidence really makes you wonder
We were very lucky here.
mostly tree damage and the fence and a few other things but nothing nothing really.
at my shop in Isla Morada I lost a 30-foot sign but that could be fixed and the other place we had no damage at all so we were extremely lucky we really were a lot of other people did not fare so well there is huge damages down here no question about it I hear FEMA has an app that you can apply for damages for damaged money if you need it but they really need to open an office down here.
LOL everybody’s talking about it but not many are able to do it
Not sure who the Independant Dems, is. Bernie is a Marxist. Is it possible we have lost the use and meaning on the English Language?
Gay is NOT Queer - Queer is Queer, Gay is Happy, Stay in the closet and everyone will be happy and the STD crisis MAY start to reduce
Welcome home Rod! Glad y’all are ok.
Guess you have your property ins co on speed dial? :)
So let me put forth my hypothesis - New York Values Donald is coming out of the Shadows.
It is about that time in the Presidential cycle to begin to make judgments on what type of DEAL we will be getting from this Businessman.
The next few months - through the end of this year appear to be the basis where we will be able to asses the good, the bad and the ugly
Got me wondering I’ll tell you
Hoping to get some FEMA relief we shall see
Those fires in Montana burned a million acres of forests--the size of the entire state of NEW JERSEY. Friends who intended to vacation in Montana's Glacier National Park, were turned away by the fires, and thick smoke and ash. Meanwhile, the Drivebys, focused on the East Coast hurricanes, pretty much ignored the western wildfires. A metaphor?
I'm right in the middle of the fires, the Montana excuse for news media has followed their Masters' lead in ignoring everything but the Really Big Stories out in Western Montana while the rest of the state gets
http://gis.dnrc.mt.gov/apps/firemap/ (Make sure you hit the "DNRC Fire Reports" layer block)
...and the only thing close to a metaphor I can think of is "We didn't vote the way the Elites wanted so we can just shut up and burn out."
Am I PO'd?
Haven't had any fires. Yet.
Friends and neighbors who have aren't really out loud PO'd, but between the rumors making the rounds out in the Eastern ranchlands and the absolute dead silence after those words get passed, BLM/Forest Service/USDA people might be more comfortable if we all were having screaming fits.
This whole situation sucks.
Just caught up reading all your posts. I’m so relieved you’re well and houses are in one piece. I’ve seen and read about some places just wiped out in the Keys. It’s such a shock to see damage like that in person. My prayers continue...
Wonderful to hear from you.
“Johnny, we’re in fly-over country, now, so close the airplane window until the nice pilot tells us we’re on final approach to San Francisco. The fires down there in fly-over country are God’s punishment for voting for that deplorable pig, Donald Trump. We’ll be back in our Sanctuary by the Bay in a few hours. In the meantime, plug in your earphones, and listen to Lady Gaga, Madonna, and their BFFs.”
