Hurricane Jose has been hanging around, waiting for attention in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Newcomer Maria threatens to impact the Caribbean Islands already devastated by Hurricane Irma, and brushed by Jose. Hurricane Jose threatens to brush or impact New England. Lee appears to be a fish storm at this time.

Impressive. This is the most active hurricane season that I can remember.
This is one helluva season.
Maria’s future seems to be tied to Jose, so while he’s hung on longer than I expected, I don’t think anyone on the east coast should rest easy yet.

2005 Atlantic Hurricane season took us well into the greek alphabet and is the most active Atlantic hurricane season on record. Of note—2005 also contained the same recycled storm names as 2017 (Harvey, Jose, Maria), with the exceptions of those retired in 2005 (e.g. Katrina, Rita, Wilma, etc.)
That probably means gust above 225. It is basically a 60 mile wide F4 Tornado.
This needs to go into breaking news...she may be stronger then Irma at her peak ..no time for eye wall replacement
many Americans in its path..starting wth the 50,000 in ST Croix which may get hit with the eye wall within 8 hours

F5 really..since the tornado scale is based on 3 second wind gusts....(but that’s with land friction too...which makes tornadoes even more impressive)

Puerto Rico and St. Croix appear to be in the path of a much stronger storm than we envisioned this morning when we knew it was bad.
Be well above sea level and be in the most massive structure you can find hopefully shielded by topography that will shelter but not mudslide.
Terrifying. Maybe Maria’s eye will wobble to the south of St. Croix?
Potential good news that the eye wall may go south of St Croix, sparing them the worst.
I bet they did. I know a lot of you all used Zello during Irma- it seemed to be very helpful.
