Iconic social and political critic Camille Paglia says “transgender propagandists” are committing “child abuse” when they spread “a lot of lies” to gender-confused children and their parents that encourage transgender treatments and surgeries in young people. “I think that the transgender propagandists make wildly inflated claims about the multiplicity of gender,” said Paglia during an interview on Roda Viva Internacional.(snip)

You can define yourself as a trans man or a trans woman or one of these new gradations along the scale, but ultimately every single cell in the human body, the DNA in that cell remains coded for your biological birth.

“What I’m concerned about is the popularity and the availability of sex-reassignment surgery to someone who doesn’t feel that he or she belongs to the biological birth gender, and people are being encouraged to intervene in the process,” she says.
The author of Free Women, Free Men: Sex, Gender, Feminism, explains:
Parents are now encouraged to subject the child to procedures that I think are a form of child abuse, either with hormones to slow puberty, actual surgical manipulations, etcetera. I think this is wrong, that people should wait until an informed age of consent. Parents should not be doing this to their children.
“I think that even in the teenage years is too soon to be making this leap,” she adds. “People change, people grow, and people adapt.”
Paglia’s view is consistent with the American College of Pediatricians, which asserts gender ideology is harmful to children and that transgendered children are psychologically confused and at risk for mental health disorders.

Camille Paglia is a rare, principled liberal. Very intelligent and eloquent even though I likely disagree with her on most things.
We are luck most liberals are not like her. If they were, we would’ve long since been beaten to a pulp politically.
Of course, the parents will say they are only acting in the interests of little what's-its-name.

Good for Camille Paglia. This abuse of the bodies of underage children, before their brains are even fully developed is a travesty not unlike the castration of young girls in Islamic countries. The pituitary gland will decide when the time is right to flood a child’s body with the adult hormones which determine the sexual development of that child. I ask, what kind of selfish motivation obsesses those who want to distort a child’s development before it actually happens? I have some ideas and I bet you do, too, in this world which is trying to glamorize and confuse people with LGBT everything 24/7. We have some evidence of the possible consequences of that in the suicide death of the young woman who was Rose O’Donald’s “wife,” in the news, just today. Society is NOT to blame for the unhappiness of trangendered people. How much more could they be accepted than to have the major news outlets glamorizing procedures to change our very future, our children, into transgenders, before they are old enough to choose. Hard to think about, isn’t it?
Once again, Camille comes through with the truth. It sure would be nice if other libs had the willingness and capability to draw logical conclusions instead of taking the party line, no matter what the issue.

Speaking of parties, I often go to them in NYC where the teenage or adult children of guests are either trans or gender-bending or look like filthy hippies. Girls in bow ties looking like Stephen Colbert and boys looking like a guest on Tucker Carlson. All of their parents are libs and I hate to say it, invariably, Jewish. What’s that about???

Camille Paglia rocks. I Love that woman, and so admire her courage, deep reflection, and principled stance on this (and other) social issues.
This is true...they are committing child abuse against children. It is no different than what the folks in England did when they averted their eyes when muslims raped under age girls for years.
