A New Jersey man has been found guilty of attempted murder in a 2015 hammer attack on a Covelo man who was his associate in a marijuana business.
Jurors returned the guilty verdict Tuesday against Adam Michael Kendall, 28 of Harrison, New Jersey. He faces a long prison term when he is sentenced Oct. 10.
Sheriffs deputies said Kendall traveled from the East Coast to Mendocino County to collect a debt. The 40-year-old victim suffered a broken wrist, fractured eye socket and several laceration before the attack was broken up by Round Valley tribal police.
Kendall was arrested after fleeing on foot and in a pickup. He was convicted after a five-day trial handled by District Attorney David Eyster.

I was thinking more...”Bang-bang Maxwell silver hammer, came down, upon his head...”
Wait, we’re told mj is supposed to be mellowing.
Money isn't.
Was the business legal? Did the ‘victim’ get in trouble?
I'm sure it wasn't. I guess that explains how the dispute was handled.
Did the victim get in trouble?
Don't know what you're getting at.
How biased!
He was simply trying to fix his head.
