Trump Slammed as ‘Con Man’ and Worse for Alleged DACA Deal
PoliZette ^ | September 14 | Brendan Kirby

. . .

The reaction from hawks and Capitol Hill and elsewhere, however, was decidedly negative.

“That’s missing the point,” said Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian on border demands. “That’s always been my fear, that Trump would give away DACA for a fig leaf.”

Krikorian said legal immigration restrictions are needed to mitigate the effects of amnesty. For instance, he said, if the United States does not restrict family-sponsored immigration, the DACA recipients will be able to sponsor their foreign relatives for residency — including, potentially, their parents, who brought them illegally in the first place.

Amnesty opponents have hurled plenty of invective at Trump in the last 12 hours, but Krikorian’s might be the most stinging — tying him to 2016 GOP primary rival Jeb Bush.

“The president is letting the Democrats set the terms of the discussion … This is pure Jebism,” he said.

Oh Noes! TID! Trump is done!

Note: TID Kitty is now a full-grown Tom Cat, but we are keeping his baby pictures because they still think they will get Donald Trump one of these days! ;-)

I commend you for not just calling it fake news & cucks (like so many here do ... and will till the day they die. Even after Trump hasn’t followed thru on any immigration campaign promise).

Sure are a lot of head-in-the-sand, shark-jumping concern trolls lately....most have one thing in common....can you guess what it is?

They like to whine but tend to not put their money where their mouth is - because their noses are so far up the butts of those who want Trump to fail?????

Do something useful...

it might add credibility to your concern troll ...concerns....

>>Meeting with Schumer and Pelosi was just a mirage then, right?<<

Well, Ryan and McConnell are not buddies and Schumer is! Those two can wheel and deal and joke around, have a grand ol’ time.

This was the whole point of the Left putting out this story, to create fissures in Trump’s support.

Come on, people. You are getting played.

The Left lies. Stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I, for one, am holding strong for Trump.

Meeting with Schumer and Pelosi was just a mirage then, right?

Trump's own tweets about not kicking out DACA immigrants are apparently also fake news or something now, too.

Exactly. Same as Marco or Hillary would have done.

Except the GOP might have fought back against Hillary on it the way they did against Obama.

Like Nixon being the one who could go to China—Trump is the one who can deliver amnesty.

Disgusting.

I’ve had my issues with Trump, especially as a candidate, but he brought me around because he seemed like a man who would try his best to do what he said he would do, and most of what he said he would do sounded good.

I’m hoping these rumors of a ‘deal’ are just that... rumors. I’m actually not opposed to revisiting limited types of amnesty... but NOT until we have decisively secured the southern border. Otherwise, we haven’t solved anything, and just given ourselves future ‘amnesty’ problems.

Crossing my fingers that President Trump will do the right thing and stick to his campaign promises!

The only thing in dispute is the term “deal.” They have an agreement but no legislative deal yet. (I wonder why.) Both sides say this!!!!!!!!!!!! No fake news. No lies.

I’ve tried calling the WH to register my deep disapproval—but they’re not answering the phone.

Meeting with Schumer and Pelosi was just a mirage then, right?

No, it was not a mirage. Trump's own party is plotting against him and he is getting leverage where he can find it. For the last seven months, Dem leadership has been portraying Trump as Hitler, and too many Republicans have been portraying him as a misguided fellow who needs correction.

Now that the Dems are supping with Trump, they can't really call him Hitler, their crazies (e.g. Waters) seem crazier, and the Republican congressional leadership won't be able to say that they run the show. Trump is playing the gal who flirts with another guy to make the boyfriend behave better.

Trump is making it very hard to portray him as an uncompromising, narrow-minded ideologue. But until he actually cuts a deal, cut him some slack as the bad guys are trying to control the narrative.

Obama had Republicans for dinner, and we all knew it was in order to further his own agenda. Why can't trump do the same thing?

Bait and switch is part of negotiating 101. Who is being baited? Trump voters or Nancy and Chuck?

Because Boehner, Kantor, and McTurtle didnt come out of the dinner saying there was an agreement. And Barky had how many such meetings? Pres. Trump has had two in six days.

I’m seriously thinking that with all the White House firings of Trump loyalists and with a liberal palace guard firmly ensconced, and now this, it’s really over. I’m not going to be fooled again. It’s time to turn my attention elsewhere.

WINNING with 3-D Chess and “all that jazz.”

President Jivanka win out of Daddy’s deception. If Hillary were president, the GOP in Congress would at least push back against it.

And I in no way expect that he will nominate another Gorsuch—he’ll give the SC to the left (and Ivanka) too.

saying there was an agreement.

And Pelosi and Turtle retracted that there was an agreement shortly after. I am NOT going to abandon Trump over what THEY say.
