News of President Trump’s alleged deal with the Democrats on DACA and the border wall sent shockwaves throughout the media Wednesday evening. While it’s being widely reported President Trump and Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer struck a deal, or agreed to work on a deal, the White House’s legislative affairs director Marc Short says not so fast.
Wall Street Journal reporter Rebecca Ballhaus tweeted after the dinner that Short told her the Democrats’ announcement on a deal with the President is “misleading.”
“WH leg affairs director Marc Short calls Dems’ DACA statement “misleading,” says no deal on DACA or border wall $$ was reached tonight,” tweeted Ballhaus.

For the life of me I don’t get why anyone wants ANY “sweetener” attached to it.
A naked, stand-alone DACA is far more likely to pass with wall funding. Without a sweetener, good chance it fails.
The dems said every new dollar in taxes would go to reduce the deficit. Instead the pent $1.84 for every dollar taken in.

The lawless DACA directive should have ended January 20, yet here we are in September and Trump has extended DACA another six months so that Congress can enact an amnesty law.

This is an interesting move by President Trump.
Unless I don’t understand how the system works, don’t the Senate and the House have to put together a bill to make something law? Does that not mean that those men and women will be the ones taking the heat from their constituents for letting the step-illegals stay?
The president can put out his statements to make it appear that he’s working across the aisle, but in the end it will be Congress who makes the law.

But cutting amnesty deals with Dems and calling for Ryan and McConnell to send him an amnesty bill to sign does not line up with that. I will blame him more than them if he signs an amnesty bill that screws Americans.

You are right. With anything even resembling DACA, there is no border security. Anyone who sneaks across with be taken in.
The dems will have their amnesty; they will cry, Why does that child get to stay, and this one doesn't?; and they will have their immigration issue to campaign on for the nex five elections, if at that point we even have elections anymore.

Exactly!!! If they are getting free college while we have skimped and saved and even down sized our house to put our 4 daughters through college. then these “dreamers” who are grown adults should have to do the same!!!
Well, our daughters have dreams too and they work very hard and are trying to pay off their student loans. They are highly taxed to pay for OTHERS free education.
